As some other reviews stated, I found this hotel to much more firmly in line with a 2-3 star hotel, rather than anything luxury. We had quite a few issues arise during our stay, which is normal, but there was no real sense of urgency or thoughtfulness to fix anything. For example: Our second day out and about, we came back to our room and found it had been cleaned but we had NO towels, not even our old ones. We called downstairs because we all wanted to shower after a long day of activities. We were told they would bring some. Waited 20 minutes with no updates. Had to call again and again to get towels. Luckily we had no reservations in the evening and were not in a rush but we were still extremely frustrated and uncomfortable while waiting. The next day we called downstairs for an issue with our safe, and again had to call THREE more times to get assistance. The service really felt lackluster. We also had issues with hot water. There was never any warm water available in the morning to shower. That was very frustrating. We did not have breakfast includes in our stay so I have no comment on that. The menu on the rooftop was only 3 items (Burger and Caesar salad). I will say the location is wonderful. Directly in front of the train and walkable to Plaza Mayor very easily. However for the price we paid I was disappointed as it was very expensive. I will be looking elsewhere next time I stay in Madrid.

Good rooms in a good location. Nothing exceptional about this hotel, but there are a lot of things that are within a short walking distance. If you're coming in by train and you plan on hitting the city center as well as the park, this location will work well for you.

Very clean rooms and hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast with a wide variety of foods and some Spanish specialties like tortilla or churros with melted chocolate. Nice oasis in the city for relaxation too - rooftop pool with a bar, sun terrace, spa services and indoor relaxation pool (extra charge), rain shower in the room. We spent our mornings and evening out & about, and our afternoons relaxing at the hotel.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights, everything is great, starting from the communication with the staff before making reservation, they are responsive everytime. All staff is helpful and all smiles from reception to the bar/kitchen staff. The room was great with view of Atocha Street, it was really clean. The terrace has also a great view of Madrid. Breakfast also is really good (our kid loved the orange juice machine and nutella dispenser). Location is also near to almost everything on walk. Thanks to Spyros (from the Bar) really nice guy who took time to get some gummy bears for our kid.

We had a great stay at Catalonia! The room was spacious and modern, the staff were friendly, and the hotel was centrally located. We didn’t get a chance to enjoy the pool unfortunately, but the rooftop terrace was gorgeous! Would definitely come back next time we are in Madrid.

Hotel Catalonia Atocha in Madrid is such a beautiful hotel. Well kept, clean, modern and well looked after. Myself and friend stayed for a sunny weekend site seeing in Madrid. The service was fantastic, and the team couldn’t do enough to ensure that your stay was comfortable, they even allowed us an early check in by 4 hours which was so kind of them. The bedrooms were perfect sized for a weekend trip, nice shower facilities, with great water pressure (always important). There is a mini bar which is charged, and the hotel also offer iron and boards (just ring down to reception and they will bring one up). Overall, a beautiful stay in a great location. I cannot wait to come back to your hotel and beautiful city 🌆 🩷

It was wonderful stay in Hotel Catalonia Atocha. I highly recommend this place and I will definitely have to return here. The team is very kind and helpful. Breakfast is delicious. But! My room was very clean and comfortable, but with no any view behind the window it could be cheaper. And the pool on the 5th floor was closed - the staff member explained to me that it is open only in the summer, but I think it should be also when the weather is so good like it was in last week. However, I'll return here if I visit Madrid again. Muchas gracias y hasta pronto!

I don't usually write reviews, but after my recent stay at Catalonia Atocha, I couldn't leave without sharing something truly special. The hotel itself was lovely – comfortable, clean, and well located. But the real reason I'm writing is to talk about Vicky at reception. She is, without exaggeration, one of the most incredible people I've ever met in hospitality. During my stay, I suddenly fell ill. I was alone in a city where I didn't know too many people, and I honestly panicked. Vicky was called by one of the staff members. From the very first second, she was calm, professional, and so, so sweet. She didn't hesitate. She immediately took control of the situation – contacted emergency services for me, explained everything clearly, and then turned her full attention to making sure I was okay. But here's what I'll never forget: even while handling everything so professionally, she made me feel like I was her only priority in that moment. Her voice was so gentle and reassuring that my fear started to fade, little by little. She didn't just help me – she saw me. Vicky is the kind of person who makes you feel safe just by being near her. She stayed by my side the whole time, kept me calm, and made sure I knew I wasn't facing any of it by myself. In a moment of real vulnerability, she was my anchor. If this hotel has any kind of employee recognition program, please give it all to Vicky. She didn't just do her job. She made me feel protected, seen, and genuinely loved as a guest. I will absolutely stay here again, and it's 100% because of her. Thank you, Vicky. You're a star.

Very expensive hotel for what it is, the positives: * LOCATION! It's the number #1 reason for staying at this hotel * Comfortable mattress * Quiet considering you're so central * A really lovely terrace with views over Madrid Negatives: * Pool shut in middle of April for the week we stayed, even though it is advertised on their website as being open. * Once you check out (12pm) you can no longer use any of the facilities - we had a later flight but were forbidden to sit on the terrace by an unhelpful staff member while we waited * Spa is charged at €15/hour per person, which I thought was awful considering there was no other pool availability on the property (even though it is advertised as such) * General problems in the room we had - broken hairdryer, wheels on the bed not locked in. etc.. I wouldn't stay again, but I'd definitely try one of the other hotels on the same street (there are many). Be careful with pools in Madrid, the opening times are down to the town hall (sometimes not opening til mid May) but the hotels still advertise them and charge the same amount.

Really enjoyed my stay at the Catalonia atocha, specifically want to shout out Marta, the absolutely lovely spa attendant who attended to me and my father. The room was nice and the cleaners did a great job but was highly disappointed to see the roof/pool closed as i had specifically booked this hotel for my father to get a view of the city easily and to go for a swim and the pool was advertised as open when i booked it. Also a lovely hotel attendant, i believe named Ivan, assisted my father to his room, and was super smiley and polite although neither could communicate with each other.

No podemos poner menos que 5 estrellas a todos los servicios, ya que nuestra experiencia ha sido literal. A la habitación doble con terraza en la que nos alojamos no le faltaba de nada, a todo detalle, limpieza impecable y actual. El servicio en general estupendo, a destacar el personal de desayunos y su exquisito y muy completo buffet. La ubicación perfecta, en pleno centro de la ciudad. Es muy diferente de las fotos en el sitio de reserva. Hice una reserva después de ver las fotos de la terraza, pero no hay terraza. Incluso si pido una habitación diferente, no me darán una. El servicio es el peor y cruel. 사진에 분명 테라스 있었는데 없공. 방 사진 너무 달라영. 직원불들 정말 불친절합니다. 모서리 뷰 배정받아서 다른방 달라고 했는데 찾아보지도 않고 방 없다고 합니다

Nuestra experiencia en el Hotel Catalonia Atocha ha sido, una vez más( y ya son unas cuantas ), espectacular. Desde que entras hasta que te vas, todo es un auténtico 10. Queremos destacar especialmente a Carolina Andrade , que desde el primer momento ( que llame al teléfono para reservar ) nos ha atendido increíble. Es majísima, cercana y siempre consigue que nos sintamos como en casa. Ella y todo el equipo del hotel hacen que cada estancia sea especial. El hotel está impecable, súper limpio, moderno y muy cuidado. La piscina de la quinta planta es una maravilla, perfecta para desconectar, y la zona de la séptima planta para tomar algo viendo el atardecer es simplemente brutal. Además, cuentan con spa y masajes, lo que hace que la experiencia sea todavía más completa. Sin duda, es nuestro hotel favorito en Madrid y siempre que podemos nos escapamos allí. El trato humano que tienen marca la diferencia. ¡Gracias por hacernos sentir siempre tan bien!

Que hotel tan precioso! Desde que entras por la puerta la calurosa bienvenida es acogedora, especialmente Carolina la chica de la recepción. Amable, disponible, simpática y tan natural que nos hizo sentir enseguida a gusto✨ la habitación muy bonita con un balcón vista al barrio, tranquilo, sin ruidos. La limpieza del hotel 100 puntos. Sie war so herzlich & wir hatten sogar das Glück, ein Upgrade zu erhalten. Hôtel très bien situé dans le quartier de las lettras. Cosy, très propre, offrant une petite piscine sur la terrasse au 5e étage, et proposant un petit déjeuner de bonne qualité. L'accueil est agréable et le service très efficace. Les chambres sont également très agréables, avec une salle de bain bien équipée et une literie confortable. Le seul reproche que nous pourrions faire c'est le bruit de la rue pour les chambres avec vue.

I stayed for five nights. The location is quite good. It's about 10 minutes from Atocha and Sol station. But as it is a very steep from Atocha to the hotel, I recommend that you should not walk with a big suitcase. The room is spacious and clean. As staffs are very friendly, I could stay very comfortable. One thing that I was disappointed is the quality of clean services. They did not clean toilets and replenish tissue papers etc.

Lindo, cómodo. La gente de recepción muy amable. La habitación estaba linda, Pero tenía algunos detalles de mantenimiento como zócalos despegados, un enchufe al lado de la cama que no funcionaba. La habitación que nos tocó daba a un patio interno que tenía poca luz. Se sentía bastante encierro. La ducha salía hermosa, el baño de buen tamaño. Un detalle que no noté cuando reservé, fue que la puerta del baño era de vidrio opaco y tampoco cerraba de forma hermética, lo que hace que se genere poca privacidad, yo hubiese colocado una puerta normal y corriente. La ubicación es buena, cerca de los principales puntos de la ciudad.

Nuestra experiencia en el Hotel Catalonia Atocha de Madrid fue simplemente perfecta. Decidimos alojarnos allí en nuestra noche de bodas, y no podríamos haber elegido mejor. Desde el primer momento, la atención del personal fue impecable: cercanos, atentos y cuidando cada detalle para que nuestra estancia fuera especial. La habitación superó nuestras expectativas, cómoda, elegante y con todo lo necesario para disfrutar de una noche inolvidable. El desayuno también merece una mención especial, muy completo y de gran calidad, ideal para empezar el día con buen sabor de boca. Además, la ubicación es inmejorable, en pleno Barrio de las Letras, lo que permite disfrutar del ambiente de Madrid y moverse fácilmente por la ciudad. Sin duda, un lugar al que volveríamos y que recomendamos para ocasiones especiales.

No puedo decir nada más que un 5 estrellas. El personal, el servicio y la habitación un top. Nos trataron como a reyes y con una atención máxima de su personal. Una maravilla para volver de nuevo con amigos.

Excelente Hotel, cumple con todo lo que debe ser un hotel de 4 estrellas. El personal muy amable, todo limpio, impecable. Mención especial a la camarera del desayuno buffet, nos dijo que no llevaba mucho tiempo pero que buen fichaje por parte de la cadena.

Magnífico hotel, bien ubicado cerca del centro, nuestra habitación era completamente nueva, muy amplia y confortable, la terraza y la mini piscina eran un lujo en el centro de Madrid

Este hotel tiene alma y cariño. Desde la remodelación, las habitaciones son increibles y te sientes como en casa, o mejor… El gimnasio está muy bien! El bufet d desayuno es muy variado y d calidad Volveremos!

Me ha sorprendido para bien. A pocos pasos de Atocha encuentras este hotel con habitaciones muy cómodas, gimnasio en sus instalaciones, personal muy majo y desayuno bastante bien. De precio bastante bien para ser Madrid y el personal super atento en todo momento
