Location second to none. That was the whole reason for booking her and it wasn’t a regret. Service was great. The mattresses could be better. Rooms (size and age) are to be expected for the area. The restaurant was excellent with amazing views. The breakfast buffet MADE the mornings. The “American bar” is a bit out of touch and could use a menu revamp. I expected to go have a bottle of nice wine on the rooftop, not a silly attempt at an “American bar” “cup of wine” … really?, which they wildly missed the mark on. Aside from that, and the miniature elevators that I can barely fit through, I’d stay here again for sure.

My mom and I stayed here for 10 nights in late April, and we had an awesome experience. All of the staff were friendly and very accommodating. The hotel has a true classic Italian feel, and I was told the building used to be a monastery. Our room was quiet and we had direct access to a shared outdoor terrace. One of the best aspects of the property is its location! It’s centrally located near many major attractions while still feeling tucked away. We had a great time and would definitely stay here again if we ever visit Rome in the future.

I am extremely disappointed with the hotel reservation policy. Paying for a 2 or 3-day reservation, a work emergency occurred, and I needed to change my travel plans. I was informed by the hotel staff, 'Angela,” that no cancellations or changes are allowed on my $1000 reservation, without a valid reason! Now I am looking for another hotel in the same area that is not the Forum Hotel to make a new reservation that complies with the cancellation policy.

A charming hotel almost on top of the Fora Imperiali with great panoramic views of the forum and beyond from its rooftop breakfast room which doubles as a restaurant in the evenings. Rooms are clean but the whole hotel could do with an upgrade. 2 lifts which are fun to ride but not necessarily efficient. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet seems a little limited. Only hot options are scrambled eggs and bacon. Nice cake selection though! Location is fantastic- walking distance to the forum, colosseum and a lot of good restaurants. The hotel ticks a lot of boxes and there isn't anything particularly bad about it but it lacks something - maybe it's the plain rooms without any modern technology or amenities. I would still recommend it but to my mind, it's not a typical 4 star hotel (although it is nice).

This hotel has the perfect location for everything you could wish to visit. The staff are lovely, very knowledgeable about the local area. The hotel is beautiful typical Roman building and decoration. The view from breakfast was just amazing. The rooftop bar is just brilliant. Can not wait to visit again.

I stayed here for one night in transit between destinations with my family and my only regret was that I couldn’t stay longer. Prime location - sights are within view or a short walk. The hotel is absolutely beautiful - perfectly captures the vintage charm and aesthetic. Without hesitation I would stay again when back in Rome.

Visiting such a historic city, I wanted to stop in a hotel that was historic. I didn't want a "run of the mill" chain hotel. Hotel Forum is exactly that. It's great in the pictures but so much better in real life. The ambience of the place is amazing. It feels "nostalgic" but still has the "mod cons". The location is one of the best in Rome. The Coloseum is 10 minutes away, Trevi Fountain is 15 minutes away, the Roman Forum is next door, and there is plenty of local shops, bars and restaurants around. The food was really quite good, but the rooftop bar is amazing. I found the reception staff to be some of the most helpful staff I've come across. We had a perfect weekend in Rome and the hotel played a big part in that. GOOD 👍 See above. BAD 👎 Err...err...err...I guess the lift is a bit slow 🤷‍♂️

An excellent hotel. Stayed 7 nights. 5 stars for the location in the heart of the Forum of Roma. Very busy neighbourhood so if that's not your bag, find another location. The dining room is a highlight with 180° views into the Forum, the Coliseum is visible up a narrow street, Victor Emmannuel building and its massive equine sculptures adorn the horizon. A little noisy street side as glass recycling is done 3 times per week at 6am. We asked to be moved and were upgraded to a deluxe room which was wonderful. If the deluxe room is within your budget book it! The staff were absolutely lovely. We did b&b. Great buffet with the above mentioned views. Highly recommended Hotel Forum. 5 star review!

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Forum in Rome. The hotel itself is beautiful, and the staff truly makes the experience special—everyone was incredibly friendly and always greeted us with a warm smile. We stayed in a Junior Suite, and the room was spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed, making it a perfect place to relax after a day of exploring the city. The location is unbeatable, with close proximity to major historical sites and great shopping, which made getting around Rome so easy. The rooftop restaurant and bar are absolutely awesome, offering amazing views and a fantastic atmosphere. We would highly recommend Hotel Forum and would gladly stay here again on our next visit to Rome.

This bar is in a great location but tonight I was really disappointed. We were a group of 9 early evening, mid week and were told to be quiet. The bar was not full. The older waiter told my husband to leave a 100 euro tip. Our bill was 560 euros. My husband paid it. I live in Italy. I know for sure no Italian leaves such a tip and also that no Italian waiter would ask an Italian for money. Not cool. We had been at this bar this summer and had a great time. None of this rubbish.

Great location! It has an on site, underground parking garage. Walkable to the Colosseum (5-ish min) and Trevi Fountain (about 10 min). Several restaurants within a 3-5 minutes walk. Hotel staff were all very kind and helpful. There is a rooftop bar with wonderful views. Would definitely stay here again.

Originally we booked for 3 nights but we had enough of it and left a day early. Didn't care that we lost out on that money, we were that upset with the hotel. First of, the room was below average, Not worth the price. Your paying for the location thats it. Bed was stiff and old, tv was very small and hard to see, oh and the air conditioner was programmed so we couldn't turn it on. What set us over the top was the second morning we woke up to hammering and drilling at 7am! They were doing construction work on the room right next to us. Which it is what it is but a heads up would of been nice! Lastly, do not let the lady at the front desk help book your tickets to the Vatican. We paid her 130 euros for a "skip the line" tickets, she said someone would escort us inside and we wouldn't have to wait. Well she scammed us, we waited like everyone else and those tickets online for the 2 of us should of been around 50 euros not 130...

The following is my experience using this hotel 1/ the buffet breakfast is fantastic. Very balanced and you can fill up for the day. Coffee included . The tables are not busy at all when it opened at 7am, had a lovely private terrace with. View to eat and do some work. Highly appreciated . 2/ the rooms are a good size for Rome, they are however dated and the desks and chair provided were not suitable to work at for longer then a hour or so. I found the room temperature hard to balance, and the AC not easy to work. Large windows are available . 3/ for the price I paid, I was located on the first floor in an “extension” that required two lifts (you go up a floor, then walk a corridor, and go down another floor) . Not ideal for 1.8k AUD for 3 nights in shoulder season (October) 4/ the American bar ; I tired to use this, and no service was provided (no one came to take orders etc after being seated). Very odd. I decided to move on to meet up with colleagues. 5/ location - you can’t be close to everything , I found this venue hit the mark for what I wanted. Near the historic ruins, but walkable to all major tourist areas . 6/ I found the front desk team very kind and attentive in the evenings. Thank you. I had a horrible experience on check out with a rude and assertively aggressive man. Totally changed my view - I would not stay here again.

This is an amazing and historic hotel that looks onto the Forum ruins, and is a 10 minute, easy walk to the Colosseum. The staff is friendly and helpful, and our room was spacious with a beautifully updated bathroom. And an incredible view from our room. The open air rooftop bar is a hidden treasure, and the breakfast room and offerings are fantastic. Plenty of restaurants nearby. I highly recommend Hotel Forum!

Had a great 4 nights there. The location is fabulous. The bar/breakfast room is amazing with the ability to see the Ancient Rome was memorable. The hotel was a little dated but unless you want the ultra modern, had a slight step back in time that added to the charm. But the people working there are its stars, everyone was super friendly and helpful. And I want to single out Marco who whilst we had a slight issue when we first checked in, went above and beyond with his resolution, he’s a real credit/star to the hotel.

Old hotel but the location was good and close to the coliseum BUT the air conditioners in our 2 rooms DID NOT COOL. We had to get fans from the front desk. We paid more to stay in a corner suite with 4 windows BUT unfortunately had to keep them shut all day because it was so hot in our room. So basically NO VIEW - VERY HOT IN OUR ROOMS.

We had booked an apartment nearby but the owners failed to show up for check-in and we found ourselves stranded in the streets of Rome at 01:00 am, tired and depressed with three large suitcases. Fortunately, the Hotel Forum was just around the corner and despite being fully-booked, the kind staff found us a room for the night and even showed us where we could get a (good) meal nearby at that time of the morning. The breakfast on the roof terrace was superb. 11/10 for service. Grazie Mille!

My husband and I contacted Hotel Forum to arrange our wedding reception dinner here 2 weeks before our date of June 2nd. We had excellent and prompt regular communication with the Food & Beverage Architetto Roberto Troiani. He was very responsive and attentive to our questions and needs. The view is amazing, the food (without having even tried it as we live in the United States) was outstanding. We received excellent service from the waitstaff and were all very courteous and professional. I would highly recommend the rooftop restaurant for a memorable evening, with great food and hospitality. Thank you so much for making our special occasion unforgettable!

I have been extremely satisfied with the hospitality and professionalism of the staff at Hotel Forum. Recently, two of my customers were on a leisure trip and had booked a hotel opposite Forum. Unfortunately, they arrived late and found the reception closed. The staff at Hotel Forum kindly stepped in, offering them a room with breakfast and going above and beyond to ensure they felt relaxed and at ease. We rolled into Rome for one night to fly home the next morning, after a month-long Italy trip, totally wiped out. No energy to run around ticking off sights, so we picked Hotel Forum for its killer location and that rooftop restaurant I found on Google, supposedly with Colosseum views. Well… not quite. The rooftop’s got an awesome view of the Roman Forum, but the Colosseum? It’s more like a tiny tease in the distance if you get the right table. Dinner up there cost a fortune—tasty, but ouch, my wallet. 299 euros and that was with the last expensive bottle of wine on the menu. Still, it was cool, and the bartender at the American bar was super nice, mixing drinks with a smile. The location’s perfect, though. You’re, like, five minutes from the Colosseum, so we walked there because holy cow it's the freaking Colleseum. Our suite was nice—fancy enough, with a bed that felt like heaven after a month of travel. And the pillows! If you’re picky about hotel pillows being too this or hard, like I am, these were a dream. Total win. Breakfast was pretty great too, with lots of options to fuel up. **Bottom Line**: Hotel Forum’s location can’t be beat, and the room was comfy as heck. The rooftop’s more about Forum views than Colosseum close-ups, but it’s still a vibe. Just don’t expect a cheap dinner. The photo with the arrow shows where the colleseum is.

One of the better hotels in Rome and well worth the money. It is ideally located for the Roman Forum, Palatino, Colosseo and close to one of the nicest areas in Rome for dining and sightseeing. The hotel is old but with character and despite its maze like structure to get to the rooms (part of the Forum experience) the technology upgrades for the rooms is pretty amazing. But the highlight of this hotel is its terrace restaurant with an insatiable view of the Roman Forum, enjoyed with exquisite food in a lovely atmosphere of live, soft classic music. The staff are genuinely pleased to serve which makes the whole experience well worthwhile. I highly recommend it.

A special mention to Giovanna , Marco, and Giacamo who all went above and beyond to welcome us for our honeymoon. Upon our arrival, we had a beautiful letter and bottle of prosecco waiting for us, a total surprise! The views are unforgettable as you are literally across the street from The Forum. During breakfast, you see have a direct view of The Forum also, as well as stunning panoramic views of the city of Rome. Visited September 2020 between Covid lock downs, very well sited & good value base for sightseeing, 15 minutes walk to the colosseum which is well worth a visit, book in advance. 10 minutes walk to the Trevi fountain which gets very busy!! 30 minutes walk to the Pantheon which was very impressive architecture.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Forum in Rome for one night, primarily to ring in the New Year and enjoy the fireworks on December 31st. While the hotel is on the smaller side, it is incredibly convenient and spotlessly clean. Its prime location means you're just a short walk—around 500 meters—from the Colosseum, making it easy to explore the area. There are also plenty of restaurants nearby, perfect for grabbing a bite to eat. We had booked the rooftop terrace for New Year's Eve, and it was a fantastic experience! With limited seating, the atmosphere was intimate and exclusive, allowing us to fully enjoy the stunning fireworks display as we celebrated the arrival of 2025. After the festivities, the staff surprised us with some delicious traditional Italian dishes, adding a lovely cultural touch to our celebration. The next day, while checking out, we faced a bit of a challenge booking an Uber. However, the front desk staff went above and beyond to assist us. It took nearly an hour, but they remained patient and dedicated, successfully booking our ride for us. Overall, our stay at Hotel Forum was delightful, characterized by a warm and helpful staff, a charming atmosphere, and a fantastic location. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking to experience the heart of Rome, especially during the festive season!

Hotel Forum is perfectly located for the Forum, Colosseum, and other sights in the centre of Rome. Our room is large with comfortable beds. It's cleaned every day by lovely staff. The best part is having breakfast on the roof terrace overlooking the Forum. The views speak for themselves. Reception staff are friendly and accommodating. They've helped us with multiple requests, and service is always with a smile. I'd recommend staying here if the Forum and Colosseum are on your list of places to visit. You can't get closer.

Just checked out of Hotel forum, amazing hotel with amazing staff who are very welcoming and friendly, location is perfect 👌 to see colleseum, roman forum, Palatine hill If you like walking and go early then basilica, Spanish steps, trevi fountain. Cleaning staff were cleaning my room and just finished as soon as I came back from tours, which was very nice.

Ein fantastisches Hotel! Ich war mit meiner Tochter dort und wir konnten uns gar nicht satt sehen an diesem fantastischen Ausblick von der Dachterrasse beim Frühstück. Wir hatten auch ein Abendessen dort reserviert und dieses war wirklich was besonderes! Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Lage des Hotels ist unschlagbar. Kolosseum und Forum in drei Minuten erreichbar, Bushaltestelle ebenso und das Viertel Monti ist sehr süß und nicht so überlaufen. Wir würden dieses Hotel wieder wählen.

Erneut ein guter Platz für den Aufenthalt in Rom… Eines gleich vorweg: wer in einem Hotel mit einer solchen Aussicht mitten im Herzen von Rom wohnen möchte, sollte unbedingt realistische Erwartungen an die dafür in einer Weltstadt aufzuwendenden Kosten haben… inklusive der in der Hotelbar. Unser Zimmer bot, wie beim ersten Besuch, direkten Blick ins Forum Romanum gegenüber. Ähnlich exponiert kann man die Aussicht jeden Früh von der Dachterrasse beim Frühstück genießen… Das selbiges typisch italienisch reduziert ausfällt, sollte man wissen, wenn es nach Rom geht und man sich etwas mit den Frühstücksgepflogenheiten der Italiener auseinandersetzt. Die Zimmer inklusive des kleinen Marmorbades sind wie in einem alten Palazzo eingerichtet und tatsächlich nicht besonders weitläufig … aber für uns beide ausreichend geräumig. Eine ordentlich einstellbare und recht leise Klimaanlage, Einbauschränke im kleinen Flur mit ausreichend Bügeln und Stauraum, wenn man seinen Koffer weitestgehend ausräumen möchte, sind ebenfalls vorhanden. Last but not least war auch der Service stets freundlich und hilfsbereit - sowohl an der Rezeption als auch beim Frühstück und in der Bar. Fazit: wir würden wohl auch bei unserem nächsten Besuch in Rom hier wohnen, denn das Gesamtpaket ist einfach stimmig!

Capitiamo in questo hotel una notte per lavoro, in un periodo molto caldo. L'hotel è in una posizione ottima per chi vuole visitare la città, attaccato ai fori romani. L'accoglienza è decisamente gentile, le stanze sono spaziose e con aria condizionata. Colazione a buffet molto fornita e varia fatta nella terrazza panoramica all'ultimo piano. Prezzi abbastanza alti, ma credo comunque adeguati ad un 4 stelle in una posizione ottima.

Lindo hotel! Pero no seguro! Los días que estuvimos hospedadas estaban pintando en los pasillos y de mi habitación me robaron 2 tapados que estaban en el placard al lado de la puerta .. aparentemente cuando estaban limpiando que la puerta estaba abierta.. fue la oportunidad para alguno de los que estaba pintando robarlo! Los pasillos no tienen cámara .. y costó que me aceptaran la denuncia !

Siamo venuti per un brunch e siamo stati accolti con estremo garbo dal personale di sala. La scelta e la qualità delle pietanze ci hanno fatto ricordare i sapori classici della cucina della nonna con polpette, parmigiana, cotoletta ma abbiamo notato anche un tocco di classe con l'aggiunta del sushi. Curiosi di provare la loro cucina, torneremo sicuramente per la vista mozzafiato sui Fori Imperiali. Chiusura finale sulla meravigliosa terrazza dell'American bar che permette di godersi un piacevole aperitivo immerso nella storia di Roma

Nach der Abreise wage ich diese Bewertung: Zweifellos eine Toplage mit einzigartiger Aussicht vom Dachrestaurant. Alles andere auch einzigartig negativ! Der Weg zum Zimmer im 1. Stock führt über zwei (2!!) Fahrstühle und ein Labyrinth von Gängen. Das Zimmer finster, düster, Blick auf eine Mauer mit drittem Bett statt Sitzgelegenheiten. Zum Restaurant samt Bar wieder über 2 Fahrstühle und Gänge. Vor der Fahrstuhltüre im Restaurant wartet um 18:30 schon ein Gestell mit ca 20 Portionen Gamberi auf die Gäste ab 19:30. Man kann es riechen bei 32 Celcius. Die Bar ist mit 10 Personen schon ausgereizt! Das Menue bietet vor allem: Preise! Einfache Spaghetti ab 20€. Unsere Saltimbocca im Olivenöl ertränkt erinnert mich daran, wie weich meine italienischen Rossetti Schuhe sind. Wir haben die restlichen zwei Abende hier nicht mehr gegessen! Top Service Event war die Abreise: wir baten an der Reception darum, zwei Gepäckstücke aus dem Zimmer zu holen, wozu ein Angestellter sich auch auf den Weg machte. Nach 15 Minuten suchte der Receptionist nach ihm und kam mit dem Gepäck auch zurück.??? Wo war der andere? “ Er hat sich ausgeruht”! Hotel Forum in Rom.. kann ich nicht empfehlen

Condivido la mia esperienza negativa con la struttura in quanto in data 08/06/2025 alle ore 09.37 chiamo e prenoto all’american bar. Confermo i miei dati (nome/cognome/numero di telefono) sicché il dipendente mi saluta non curante che la sera stessa, sono venuto a sapere successivamente, avrebbero tenuto un buffet cerimoniale o simile e che mi avrebbero respinto. In conclusione ho rinunciato ad una giornata di relax presso la struttura provvedendo altrove e senza prenotazione in struttura alla pari, ma ciò che non concepisco è che il dipendente della terrazza (paolo barman) insisteva nel dire che non fosse l’american bar terrazza questo! (E cos’è allora?!). Nella Hall tutti che mi guardavano come se fossi un alien quarta saga. La mia è una critica costruttiva per farvi crescere vista la concorrenza alberghiera, in quanto si può sbagliare ad un centro estivo per bambini per carità, ma non in una struttura storica come questa e che non può perdersi per un’informazione sbagliata riferita al telefono.

Sono tornata al Forum Hotel a distanza di quattro anni circa e la mia opinione è sempre eccellente. Le stanze sono tutte bellissime, anche quelle più "basic". Tutto il personale è attento e disponibile. Ancora una volta ho amato il ristorante con una vista mozzafiato. Come sempre l'attenzione e la cura di tutti i camerieri e del responsabile di sala sono state impeccabili. Ormai questo hotel è il mio punto di riferimento per i miei viaggi a Roma.

J’ai récemment séjourné à l’hôtel Forum et je tiens à partager mon expérience. L’hôtel est très bien situé et est vraiment magnifique. Cependant, j’ai été très déçu par le petit déjeuner, qui était tout simplement infect. Lorsque j’en ai parlé au moment du check-out, l’hôtesse a fait semblant de ne pas m’entendre, ce qui a été très frustrant. C’est dommage, car le reste du personnel était très agréable et attentionné. Je quitte donc cet hôtel avec un sentiment mitigé, malgré ses nombreux points positifs.
