We had a wonderful meal at Il Salumaio. This is a historic restaurant with a beautiful courtyard featured in House of Gucci and Devil Wears Prada 2. The food was excellent with wonderful service. Highly recommended.

This was the first place I visited upon arriving in Milan, as it had received an overwhelming amount of online recommendations and influencer endorsements. Unfortunately, in my personal opinion, it was a complete disappointment. Starting with the positives. Beautiful venue, lovely terrace. Our server was polite, attentive, and genuinely pleasant. The food arrived quickly, and the wine recommendation was great. However, the food quality, in my subjective opinion, was shocking for a place of this caliber. We ordered carpaccio and pasta. The pasta was okay, homemade which I do appreciate, but personally it felt like something anyone could make at home with no culinary skills whatsoever, and probably better. Even the quality of the bread was poor and dry. It tasted rushed and effortless, not like something prepared by a trained chef in a restaurant with this kind of reputation. The carpaccio, in my personal opinion, was simply unacceptable. The meat appeared to be of very different colors, the quality seemed poor to me, and there was an unpleasant smell that left me genuinely concerned about food safety. I also noticed dishes being served at the neighboring table, and personally they looked equally unappetizing and low quality. In my subjective opinion, this place seems to be recommended purely for its atmosphere and trendy image, not for its food. I would strongly encourage the chef and restaurant management to pay serious attention to the quality of what is coming out of the kitchen, as it does not match the setting at all. I will not be returning for food. Perhaps for a drink only.

Today we visited this restaurant and left with very mixed feelings. The atmosphere and location are truly beautiful, and the setting has a lot of charm. However, the service was unfortunately disappointing. When we were offered an aperitif, I politely declined because I don’t drink alcohol. The waiter then started making jokes suggesting that something was “wrong” with me for not drinking, and repeated similar comments several times, it felt inappropriate and uncomfortable. The fish was very tasty and delicate, but the presentation of the dish was underwhelming, especially considering that it costs €32. Sometimes it feels like certain restaurants rely too heavily on a great location and beautiful interior while forgetting that good service is just as important.

Disappointing. Overrated. The place was nice but the food was very ordinary nothing special about any of the dishes we ordered. Ordered the pasta al fungi portion was tiny. Fish was ok but was not deboned properly it had a lot of bones. Salami was dry not even freshly cut. Tartar was underwhelming. Such a pity a nice place didnt serve the food to its supposed level.

Salumaio offers both indoor and outdoor dining options. While May is typically a popular time for outdoor seating, I found the indoor dining experience to be more enjoyable. The building itself is stunning, and the food is great. Their burrata, veal cutlet, branzino, and any pasta on primi piatti are must-tries. I highly recommend pairing your meal with a good bottle of Chianti. Additionally, I want to give a special shoutout to Fausto, who is undoubtedly one of the best server you’ll ever encounter.

We had an absolutely amazing experience with Samuele and Luca. From start to finish, they went above and beyond to make everything perfect and fulfilled every single request we had. Their service was outstanding, attentive, warm, and incredibly professional. They truly made our time in Milan unforgettable. On top of that, the food was stunning, every dish was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. Highly recommend ! We would come back anytime!

It's been a long time since I've experienced such poor service. Nonchalant waiters who managed to ignore but even worse tried to hide labels on wine, poured without allowing you to taste and were rude when you mentioned the problem. For that price range, as a guest you should be able to expect good quality.

The place offers an amazing atmosphere. But lacks power in the service and food. We had to ask for water and more drinks a few times. They kept saying: "I will ask my colleague, who was probably the person responsible for our table." Took ages to get what we were asking for. My pasta was the biggest deception, no flavour at all, it was the funghi pasta, do not recommend it. My friend’s pasta ravioli tasted better.

Loved this place. The service is truly impeccable, the stuff makes your meal feel royal, being unnoticeably present when necessary and serving in a totally non-intrusive fashion. These people are pros! Atmosphere is very cosy and totally Milanese. The food is good, not the best high-cuisine style, I would say, but really good in a stable traditional way. Recommend for business meetings and dates, when you heed to be sure of outcome.

We visited the restaurant for lunch recently and were really looking forward to an outstanding experience given the reviews online as well as the way friends who had visited spoke about it as a ‘must’ while in Milan. Unfortunately, after being seated by the lady at the entrance (who was amazing & extremely stylish), the experience started going downhill. Even though the restaurant appeared well-staffed and not overwhelmed, we had to request a few things multiple times.Moreover, we received all dishes at the same time and were never asked if we needed anything else( e.g. parmesan cheese for our 3 pasta dishes). Regarding the quality of the food - despite how delicious all plates seen on tables surrounding us, we collectively felt the food was bland and unseasoned.The must-try dish felt like “hospital food” and the meat dish was nearly inedible. We left disappointed because the setting was impeccable and we were truly looking forward to enjoying ourselves there. I really wish I was here writing a 5 star experience because of how amazing everything looked.

Beautiful setting, especially the courtyard. Food was good but not memorable. Well-presented and clearly decent ingredients, but overall felt quite safe and didn’t really stand out in terms of flavour or execution. Service was smooth and professional throughout. A pleasant first-night restaurant, but not somewhere I’d go out of my way to return to purely for the food.

We chose this place to celebrate my best friend’s birthday and had a lovely evening until the very end. Unfortunately, when we politely asked to split the bill, the waiter responded with unexpected rudeness, including irritated gestures and angry tone. It was surprising and disappointing, especially on what was meant to be a special occasion. A place with such a nice atmosphere should also reflect the same level of courtesy in its service. And after reading other reviews, it seems we were not the only ones who had a similar experience…

When it came to pay one of their waiters cursed at us just because we wanted to pay separately he was super rude with his words towards us, super annoying even tho there was nothing has to do with us. We are a couple from Israel that came to Milano for Olympic games, and decided to visit Bagatti-Valsecchi museum to learn local culture. After that, we came to this place to have a lunch and faced a rather unpleasant situation here. The waiter already asked us if there will be two of us, and was ready to serve (as there were plenty of empty seats) but the manager silently shook his head and we were immediately rejected as "there is no free tables". This is truly disquisting to face such rough anti-Semitic behaviour here, shame on restaurant management. We found a better place to spend our 350 EUR for lunch nearby but we were obviously upset.

This place has a serious problem. We went there as a crowded group of people, two of us ordered swordfish and we both ended up throwing up a couple of hours later(we didn’t eat anything else afterwards nor did we eat anything common before that). I was sick for 2 days. Also a friend of mine said that she went there the day before us with her friend group of 4 people and 3 of them ended up getting food poisoned as well, we shared the exact same symptoms even though this time my friend said she ate the ragu and the other ate steak. Additionally the food is very very mid and definitely not worth the hype and the price

Culinary institution in the fashionable center of Milan close to Piazza Cavour. The last Saturday of January 2026 we dined in one of the small rooms since the outdoor warmed seating was fully booked. Service was excellent, food rather bland and prices on the high side, in particular for the wines on the richly garnished wine list. There are very few options for wine by the glass, a pity for guests that cannot consume a full or half bottle.

The lady from the entrance clearly doesn’t know how to treat their customers, she wanted us to leave our table when the restaurant was clearly empty (even when we left), after that the waiters decided to turn our heater off. When i kindly asked to turn it on they looked at the hostess afraid of her, they didn’t and even said it stopped working. Then they had the audacity to charge us extra for the terrible service given. I have been here before but this will be my last time!!

The food is reasonable, the atmosphere/ place is beautiful but the service experience was terrible! I'm on vacation and I had a bad experience at the restaurant. I tried to order wine and a dessert and it took more than 30 minutes for the waiter to bring the menu and I ended up giving up. In the end, another 15 minutes to get the bill. Honestly, it was a terrible experience with my family on vacation!

Cesar hadde tørr og noe som egentlig minnet om gammel kylling, biffen kom med poteter som fremstod som hadde stått på en buffet i mange timer. Tørre og smakløse. Klaget på maten og ønsket ikke betale for den, fikk avslag på en rett - men måtte igjen betale 20€ for å ha brukt serviettene og duken. I utgangspunktet hyggelig servitører, men denne håndteringen ble dessverre veldig dårlig. Frarådes ⚠️

Kişi başı 7 euro servis ücreti var. Burrata yediğim en iyi burrata’lardan bi tanesiydi. Super deluso. Sono venuto in questo ristorante per festeggiare gli 80 anni di mio padre, un’occasione importante che purtroppo è stata rovinata. Rispetto alle precedenti visite, la qualità dei prodotti era nettamente inferiore. La presentazione dei piatti era imbarazzante: i contorni della carne sembravano una mensa scolastica per bambini. Davvero lontanissimo dal livello e dalla reputazione che questo ristorante aveva in passato. Il servizio è stato altrettanto deludente. Avevo richiesto una torta a sorpresa per il compleanno di mio padre, ma il cameriere è riuscito perfino a rovinare la sorpresa. Ciliegina sulla torta: quando finalmente è arrivata la torta con scritto “Buon compleanno 80 anni”, l’hanno messa davanti a mio fratello di 45 anni. Assurdo!!! E la cosa più grave? Nessuna scusa. Nessuno si è preso la responsabilità dell’accaduto e non c’è stato nemmeno il minimo gesto commerciale: neanche un caffè offerto o una semplice attenzione dopo una serata rovinata. Per un ristorante di questa reputazione, è sinceramente inaccettabile. Un’esperienza sinceramente pessima e imbarazzante per un’occasione così importante, non potrò più raccomandare questo ristorante né ai miei amici né ai miei clienti.

Visitar II Salumaio es mucho más que una comida; es sumergirse en la historia milanesa. El patio interior es, sin duda, uno de los rincones más bellos de la ciudad. El servicio fue impecable y muy atento. Probamos la COTOLETTA ALLA MILANESE y estaba en su punto Perfecto. Es el lugar ideal si buscas una atmósfera elegante y exclusiva mientras haces compras por el cuadrilátero de la moda. Totalmente recomendado.

Posto senza ombra di dubbio carino, finita la poesia. Cotoletta 30 euro grande come il palmo di una mano di un bambino, non buona, cotto male, insapore. Patate al forno pessime. Servizio freddo, distacca, ibrido e supponente. La cosa che più mi ha infastidito è stata la "signora" mulatta con capelli ricci all' accoglienza che è di una maleducazione e scortesia unica, oltre a masticare costantemente la chewing gum con la bocca aperta. Siamo nel 2026, bisognerebbe imparare a stare al mondo e a lavorare.

位置很不好找，在一個類似廣場的地方，一直懷疑是不是走錯地方。給了我們室外的座位，有點冷，但有供暖氣。價格算高，但相對服務不錯，不確定是不是米其林餐廳，但絕對有米其林的淺值。 燉飯跟細麵都是很簡單的料理，沒有過多裝飾，只有麵跟飯這樣。燉飯是南瓜燉飯，真的就只有南瓜的味道。細麵也是，但忘記是啥口味了。不過吃起來意外的蠻好吃。據說提拉米蘇不錯，有機會來試試。他也有提供免費麵包，好吃，很香。 免費廁所提供給尿急的食客，在室內座位區，不太好找可以問店員請他指路。 總結來說，雖然食物看起來簡單了點，但味道是蠻有水準的，服務同樣到位。

Posto dove sicuramente non tornare e che non consiglierei. Non posso che confermare le recensioni che mi hanno preceduto: atmosfera suggestiva e sicuramente particolare in palazzo storico nel centro. L'accoglienza iniziale era partita bene ma si è fermata in corsa. Attesa eccessiva, arrivano le prime portate e quello che immagino fosse il cuoco assume atteggiamenti confidenziali e ironizza sul fatto che non rispondessimo subito a chi dovessero essere servite le 3 cotolette che avevamo ordinato (dopo mezz'ora di attesa sinceramente non è richiesta tutta questa confidenza). Non ci siamo. Antipasti striminziti e cotolette non all'altezza, secche che a casa avrei saputo cucinare meglio. Cameriere gentile fino a che ci presenta il preconto che ovviamente approviamo, salvo poi accorgerci che qualcosa non tornava. Alle nostre richieste di esibire , purtroppo dopo aver già pagato , nuovamente il preconto inizia una scena quantomeno patetica. Ci accusa di aver accettato la somma da pagare e altre scuse incomprensibili pur di nascondere che... avevano caricato una bottiglia di vino in più per la quale, solo dopo le nostre accese rimostranze, hanno rimborsato. Insomma manca la classe. Sicuramente un bel posto ma gestito male.

Location unica, situata in un palazzo in stile neo-rinascimentale. L’intero ristorante richiama questo stile, creando un’atmosfera davvero suggestiva. I piatti sono buoni, e il tiramisù penso sia uno dei migliori che abbia mai assaggiato, un vero must da ordinare. Il servizio, pur curato nell’abbigliamento, a tratti è apparso frettoloso e troppo informale, poco in linea con la raffinatezza della location. Il barman è gentile, anche se leggermente troppo confidenziale, ma è riuscito ad accogliere bene. Nonostante tutto, sono riusciti a soddisfare le mie richieste.

Accueil dur dur par une visio de boite reconvertie mais qui n’a pas intégré la reconversion. Endroit magnifique. Service à la table très sympathique. Assiette très décevante : veau trop cuit, champignons sans goût… je ne recommande pas. Passez dans la cour ouverte pour voir l’endroit mais prenez votre repas ailleurs.
