23/05/2026I came all the way from Chicago with serious expectations when it comes to steak, and Osteria La Carbonaia Carne exceeded every one of them. I’ve eaten some of the world’s finest cuts—from Tokyo to New York to Hong Kong—and this little Milan osteria stands proudly among them. The restaurant is small, cozy, and full of charm. The steak tartare is silky and flavorful, the meatballs are comforting and delicious, and the T‑bone steak is simply perfection. Their pasta dishes are made with such care that you can taste the passion in every forkful. Add in a fantastic, reasonably priced wine list, and you have a place that delivers an unforgettable experience. A must‑visit for any steak lover in Milan.

Location is super good as well, wish it was bigger because sometimes hard to get a reservation but that’s my only complaint haha, grazie infinite per le splendide serate!

17/02/2026If you are not a local , please avoid this restaurant. We were the only 2 people who were not locals . The staff caters to their regulars. Despite many open tables, we were sat next to the front door, meaning that the door opened and hit our table. People’s coats brushed over our food. It is hard to say service was bad, it was non existent. We ordered, the wine was opened in the back and nobody ever asked if we wanted bread, water, etc. Nobody checked on how our food was, not once. But the owner fawned over every other table . It took another 20 minutes to get checked out after I asked for the cheque. After we left, we went to a rooftop bar and had dessert there instead which was the best decision of the evening.

Love the vibes by calm and professional service with great sense of humor together with his funny “boss”! Dont miss Housemade tiramisu or panna cotta with Espresso at the end❤️

Fortunately there was an availability for 1 hour to have our dinner. Steak was super good. Pastas were good. Wine recommendation was also nice. The hospitality was top notch for such small but charming space. They didn’t have to accommodate us but im glad they did. Solid meal. Classico vibes. Amazing dinner. Grazie!

03/04/2025I came to this restaurant by chance and didn't realize that it was full of locals, just the two of us Chinese. Looking at Google's recommendations for ordering, the waitress very kindly reminded us that we had ordered too much, and in the end we only needed the steak and pasta, and the guy at the table next to us recommended the Parisian water haha. Overall, it was probably the best pasta I've had so far, and the steak was great, I just didn't realize there was so much meat that we didn't finish it and opted to take it out. Again, kudos to everyone for their sense of service and for making us feel the friendliness of Italy.

27/01/2025If you are a tourist it may be hard to find a spot. Find a local friend and come either them. Although they do speak english it is very hard to understand the menu (for me with my little italian). The ultimately best meat ever !! With a wonderfully combined wine and delicious desert it is a great atmosphere. Chew and enjoy that is all. Plan this place beforehand and make sure you are on time for tour reservation

04/01/2025Do not trust the bad reviews !! I saw a family with a stroller in the restaurant, it's not as narrow as the bad reviewers (brats) might say. We went there, my wife and I, for my birthday, after having been to the Alfa Romeo museum and Monza racetrack, I was pleased to see drawings of racing cars and motorbikes on the walls from the historical Grand Prix and Monza racetrack, of course coupled with traditional paintings and a very nice authentic decoration. We didn't make a reservation, yet they managed to accommodate us at a table that was reserved by someone else for an hour later; they reassured us that they would have the time to serve us, and trusted us that we could eat in the allotted timeslot, which is very rare for a restaurant to do. When the time came, we were finishing our dinner (starters, main dish, dessert, wine, espressi), and they were apologetically telling us the time had come, but of course they didn't even need to do so; it was already very nice of them to have been able to accommodate us. The service was very nice and friendly, and we had some good laughs with the gentleman with silver hair who served us (he seemed to be the manager/owner). The food was very good, especially the meat; so tender and with a nice subtle taste, very fresh and of good quality. The "terrace of badgers" Sauvignon was very good too, as well as the panna cotta with homemade strawberry sauce, that indeed tasted like a homemade sauce. Grazie mille.

07/12/2024Absolutely great place through and through. Would recommend booking (we reserved and came back) - felt very authentic Italian. They provided an English menu for myself. We had lots of laughs with the waiter and enjoyed a great long dinner here. My partner and I shared the tagliatelle à la Ragu, and each a cottoletta à la Milanese (amazing) Delicious - and great wine rec ! Loved it - felt very authentic/ apart of the Italian culture !

02/11/2024Delicious food, excellent and friendly service. Tried it for lunch, loved it, made reservation for dinner for the same day. Highly recommend to make reservations. For lunch we had the cotoletta Milanese and the tagliatelle funghi porcini. Both plates were delicious and the portions were very decent. Their tiramisu is one of the best we have had ever. For dinner I was ordering Bistecca allla Florentina, on top of other plate we had already ordered, and our server graciously explained to me that ordering the Bistecca allla Florentina may become way too much food for my wife and I, so I just ordered a steak and my wife ordered some pasta. Both were super delicious 😋 We had tiramisu again for dessert and a cappuccino. Our server (can't remember his name, he is from Macedonia) was super friendly, helpful, professional, knowledgeable. He made sure we had an enjoyable visit both times. I highly recommend Osteria la Carbonaia carne

02/10/2024What a lucky pick! Was walking in search of a simple, authentic restaurant and found this diamond. Extremely friendly waiter (owner?) and very delicious food. The porcini were fresh and of amazing quality. Very reasonable prices as well. Make sure you have a reservation though as it's a small restaurant. Will definitely come back, thank you! :-)

28/01/2026Esperienza davvero surreale. Ho chiamato venerdì, 5 giorni fa, proprio per essere sicuro di trovare posto. Arrivo oggi, mercoledì, e della prenotazione non c’era traccia. Nel 2026, per un ristorante in pieno centro, è francamente incredibile scoprire che: • le prenotazioni vengono segnate su un libro bianco • non esiste alcuna prenotazione online • e, cosa ancora più grave, si dimenticano anche quelle prese al telefono Risultato? Disagio totale, tempo perso e obbligo di cambiare ristorante all’ultimo momento. Capisco l’errore umano, ma qui parliamo di una gestione approssimativa e fuori dal tempo, soprattutto per un locale che dovrebbe puntare su professionalità e organizzazione. Peccato, perché l’esperienza è stata rovinata prima ancora di sedersi a tavola.

22/12/2025Siamo stati in questo ristorante toscano nel weekend, domenica sera. Siamo riusciti a trovare un tavolo perché siamo arrivati presto, mentre gli ospiti con prenotazione erano previsti intorno alle 21, quindi abbiamo avuto la fortuna di poterci sedere senza problemi. Il locale è un ristorante classico, dallo stile rustico. All’arrivo ci hanno offerto un piccolo antipasto di benvenuto. Abbiamo ordinato bruschette come antipasto, la pasta ai carciofi e una costata. La pasta ai carciofi era cotta alla perfezione e molto saporita. La carne è stata la vera sorpresa: morbidissima, gustosa e di ottima qualità. L’unica nota leggermente negativa è che viene servita su piatti di ceramica, che dopo un po’ non mantengono il calore. Abbiamo concluso con un sorbetto e un caffè; anche il sorbetto era buono. Il conto totale è stato di 74 euro per due persone (due antipasti, un primo, un secondo, sorbetto, caffè e una bottiglia di vino), quindi direi un prezzo assolutamente giusto. Consiglio vivamente di prenotare, soprattutto nel weekend: durante la nostra permanenza diverse persone non hanno trovato posto. Ci siamo trovati molto bene e sicuramente è un ristorante in cui torneremo.

L'atmosfera è rustica e accogliente, con un servizio attento e cordiale che ti fa sentire subito a casa. Il menù è focalizzato sulla carne, e ogni piatto è un'esplosione di sapore. La bistecca fiorentina è assolutamente da provare: cotta alla perfezione, succulenta e tenera, accompagnata da contorni freschi e saporiti. Anche le costine di maiale sono eccezionali, morbide e ben speziate. I prezzi sono giusti per la qualità della carne e delle porzioni abbondanti. Perfetto per una serata con amici o una cena in famiglia, Osteria La Carbonaia è una vera e propria oasi per chi cerca carne di alta qualità e piatti preparati con passione.

Ho dato una stella in meno al cibo, solo perché le tagliatelle ai funghi che ho mangiato non erano molto saporite, visto il periodo buono dei funghi, mi sarei aspettato un sapore un po' più deciso. Resta il fatto che comunque mi sono trovato molto bene, esperienza assolutamente positiva.

25/09/2025驚く程リーズナブルで美味しいこちらのお店。以前から来たかったので、知人に予約してもらい来ました。19時半オープンですがすぐさま満席。21時半までの席でしたが、それ以降も満席と平日から大人気でした。 食べてその理由に納得。新鮮なポルチーニのサラダに美味しいパスタ。そして何と言ってもお肉。アメリカ系のステーキハウスとはまた違う、イタリア料理としての肉の美味しさを感じられる内容で本当に美味しい。そしてお会計を見てびっくり、本当にリーズナブルな内容でした。 ドルチェも3種類頂き、素敵な食事時間を過ごす事が出来ました。また来たい店になりました。

26/03/2025Osteria la carbonaia carne es un lugar súper agradable, excelente servicio y lo mejor buena comida, es un espacio pequeño pero vale la pena, si vas a milano debes comer aquí, a nuestra llegada nos preguntaron si teníamos reservado al parecer funciona así por sé pequeño pero nos dejaron quedarnos y tuvimos una excelente experiencia, todo el público es local que nos hizo alejarnos un poco del turismo y ver qué tal comen los italianos, siempre trataremos de buscar lugares así pues la experiencia y el sabor de la comida es diferente. Si vuelvo a Milán volvería sin dudar a este lugar 10/10 A tu llegada te pones croquetas según la cantidad de personas en la mesa, pan y si lo comes te lo van cambiando, optamos por la especialidad de la casa: tagliata della casa y cotoletta allá milanese, una botella de vino de la casa, tiramisú y todo estuvo riquísimo

Il cibo squisito, dalle polpettine portate come antipasto ai primi unici e deliziosi alla vera cotoletta alla milanese con l'osso. Consiglio , anzi lo renderei una tappa obbligatoria per chi visitasse Milano. Just, EXCEPTIONAL. Compliments for everything, from the courtesy of the waiters to the warm little room sized like a real Osteria. The exquisite food, from the meatballs brought as an appetizer to the unique and delicious first courses to the real Milanese cutlet with the bone. I recommend it, indeed I would make it a mandatory stop for anyone visiting Milan

25/09/2024Chiamo per prenotare per Sabato, il signore che mi risponde al telefono mi dice che non potrei andare alle 20:30/21:00 perché ( c’è un po di gente a detta sua) invece di dire semplicemente che fanno i doppi turni. Quindi o vai alle 19:30 e lasci alle 21 o alle 22. Quindi uno se vuole mangiare alle 8:30 non si può. Ottima scelta aziendale per allontanare clienti. Sicuramente uno è libero di fare quello che vuole, ma almeno la decenza di dire le cose come stanno.
