The only good thing about this restaurant is the location. I ordered fungi pizza and it wasn’t not good at all I could have made a better one myself, and ordered a cola zero without Ice they brought me Ice with Cola that taste water not even cola zero.

Unfortunately, our experience at this restaurant was disappointing. We ordered four dishes, all served on large plates, making our table extremely crowded and uncomfortable. We politely asked to move to a larger table, especially since several larger tables were available. Despite this, our request was repeatedly refused without a reasonable explanation. After a lengthy discussion, we were finally allowed to move, which only confirmed that accommodating our request was possible from the beginning. What made the experience worse was the attitude of the waiter (the lady with red hair), who was dismissive and unfriendly throughout the interaction. Good food alone is not enough to create a pleasant dining experience. Hospitality, flexibility, and respectful customer service are equally important. Sadly, this restaurant fell short in those areas.

Absolutely disgraceful and unacceptable experience at Motta Milano 1928. This was by far one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever encountered. From the moment we politely requested to sit in a different area of the restaurant, we were treated with hostility, arrogance, and complete disrespect. Two female members of staff spoke to us in an extremely rude, aggressive, and unprofessional manner. Their tone was dismissive, confrontational, and completely inappropriate for anyone working in the hospitality industry. Instead of making customers feel welcome, they made us feel uncomfortable, unwanted, and humiliated. What was even more shocking was the behaviour of the manager. Rather than listening to our concerns, calming the situation, or offering a simple apology, he chose to support and encourage the unacceptable behaviour of his staff. He showed absolutely no interest in customer service, professionalism, or basic respect. His attitude made an already terrible situation significantly worse. As international visitors, we expected courtesy, hospitality, and respect. Instead, we experienced rudeness, hostility, and a complete lack of professionalism. The atmosphere was unpleasant, the staff were disrespectful, and the management demonstrated a complete failure of leadership. A restaurant's reputation starts with its staff and management, and unfortunately both failed miserably on this occasion. There are countless restaurants in Milan that value their customers and understand the meaning of hospitality. This establishment is not one of them.I would never return, and I would strongly advise tourists and visitors to spend their money elsewhere. A truly disappointing, embarrassing, and unacceptable experience.

0 stars. AVOID at all costs. We asked to sit at a table that had just become available, but it seemed the staff simply did not want to clean it. Instead of politely explaining the situation, a girl staff member immediately started shouting at us, repeatedly saying things like, “Don’t you see the table is not clean?” And she even kept walking towards us proceeding to shout and even kicked us out when we told her to stop shouting. When we asked to speak to the manager, the shouting continued, and the manager backed up this unacceptable behavior. We were then kicked out for questioning why we were being spoken to so disrespectfully. Several staff members proceeded to gang up on us rather than resolve the situation professionally. The way we were treated felt discriminatory, hostile, and completely unwelcoming. A disgraceful way to treat customers and tourists.

I hope you’re hungry… for nothing! My family and I just finished a long day of driving up the coast of Italy and went to the first restaurant we saw at the Galleria to grab some dessert and expresso before heading out to our hotel (its a weekday at 9:30 PM). Our party of 3 was seated, and we intended to order one entree, two desserts, and a doppio. Before our order is taken, I head to the bathroom, which was mistake number 2 (the first mistake being choosing this restaurant to begin with). It was absolutely rancid; there was toilet paper all over the floor, urine PUDDLED on the floor and pooled on the back of the seat. Then, after washing the grime off, you can find the pièce de résistance: dark grey, murky water that was pooling within the hand dryer. But anyway, I got back to the table and the waitress comes to take our order and we explained that we’re having one entrée and two desserts and she says we can no longer sit there. She says it’s policy that “this is a restaurant” and that you “MUST order a meal” to sit there and desserts would not suffice. No worries though, the waitress had a GENIUS idea: she suggested for my mom (who wanted the entrée) to move tables to eat by herself at a two-person table while my dad and I would step outside because they would not provide service for just a dessert. Mind you, its not fashion week or an event night, there are plenty of empty tables. It is a normal weekday at nearly at 10 PM so I don’t think it’s particularly strange for someone not to be eating an entire traditional dinner meal and just want some dessert and coffee. We expressed our confusion with this policy since this has never happened to us before. We are from Miami so we are well-versed with our fair share of fine dining rules and etiquette (which this place is a 3 star tourist trap at best and nowhere near the caliber of fine dining). The waitress said she would go speak to her manager to see if there could be an exception and quickly returned to say that yes we must leave unless we ordered three entree plates. Therefore, we decided to leave; hence, the plate of nothing. It is inane to deny service on a random day of the week when most of things at the Galleria are closed because it’s late. Alas, if the restroom is any reflection of the service and food quality that we would be receiving, we were kindly spared by the waitress and the manager. Overall, 10/10 would not recommend. If you are desperate need of a restroom, I suggest you search for a public WC, which is guaranteed to be more hygienic and in less violation of Italian food establishment law. If you are in desperate need of some dolce and expresso, I suggest you go to any of the other establishments that are right next-door, as they are happy to serve customers regardless of their orders.

Pizza was good. The mushroom pasta lacked salt and was not flavourful. Even after adding salt, it did not taste great. We felt we were overcharged for water. Not a big deal as it’s only a few euros but it was definitely something the servers overlooked and didn’t fix after we asked them.

We we're 4 people, just wanted to order two salads and four drinks, time was 2 p.m, not dinner time, telling us it's not enough food to order for four people !!!!! Very Unfriendly waitress !!!!!!!!!!!!!, the restaurant was half full, outside !!!!!!!! We ended up spending 75€ for bad unfriendly service and hardly nothing. My friend had his feet resting on an empty chair at our table. One of the servers approached us in a very rude manner and told us we weren’t allowed to do that, mentioning “hygiene” concerns. We immediately understood, agreed, and apologized. However, her attitude only got worse. She took the chair away abruptly and rolled her eyes at us, which felt extremely disrespectful. The way she handled the situation was unnecessary and unprofessional. It completely ruined our mood and negatively impacted what should have been a pleasant experience at such an iconic restaurant. 5 stars for the bartender; the drinks where so accurate and good!

After a long day of sightseeing, we came to Motta (opposite Duomo) for a drink. When we reached, the place was not full and we requested to sit by the corner (we are three people). The server rudely told us that we are not allowed to sit there, only 2 people can sit on the table. After we were made to sit, to our surprise we see that corner tables were seated with more than 2 people. Highly disappointed to see the “special” treatment that we got by the server. When we raised the issue with the servers, there was no response, not even a sorry. The servers are rude , service is super slow and the drinks are average and over priced.

This restaurant is terrible, and the Bald manager was rude and racist. He told me to wait because I'm Muslim, then told the girls who arrived after me to sit before me. When I tried to ask why he did that, he yelled at me, turned his back, and made me stand for a long time while I was pregnant. I would never recommend it to anyone I know; It's the worst restaurant in Italy, hands down..

After a long day of sightseeing at Duomo di Milano, my family and I stopped for a quick snack at Motta Milano 1928, located within Il Mercato del Duomo. It’s a ground-floor sandwich and pastry shop situated right next to the Duomo and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. * Motta Milano serves coffee, tea, juices, bottled water, pastries, and hot sandwiches. Everything we ordered tasted fresh and delicious. I’ve attached a few photos ... although we ate most of our treats before I could take pictures! 🙂 * Prices are reasonable and in line with other cafés in Milan (for example, a meat sandwich costs approximately €8). This spot is just steps away from the Duomo and is a great place to grab a quick bite while exploring the area. Note: seating is limited to bar stools; there is no restaurant-style seating.

Disappointed. Terrible food quality. The pasta is acceptable but the portion is very small. The beef fillet is a complete disaster. I ordered medium but they serve well done in a very small portion. I politely asked them to serve another plate, but they just give me another plate that is raw. My knife can’t even cut through the fillet. This restaurant is a mess. Don’t come here.

First time eating in Milan and we chose Motta because the location looked nice. What a huge disappointment. We ordered a platter with shrimps and calamari, the calamari were like chewing gum. It came with fried aubergine and peppers that were extremely greasy. We also ordered a pizza funghi, which was absolutely terrible: a rancid layer of cheese that wasn’t even properly baked. The salad was small and tasteless as well. We barely touched our food and sent the plates back. When we spoke to the manager, his response was that their dishes are “well known and good,” despite the fact that our plates were almost full. We were still presented with the full bill, even though we ate practically nothing. By far the worst food and service experience I have ever had. I will never set foot in this place again.

How do you learn about the mismanagement of the place from the person in charge of it? I was there and there were more than 3 tables available for two people, so I chose one. The waitress replied to me that it needed preparation and she told me that I would have to wait outside. I replied to her, “I will sit on the two chairs that are inside until they are prepared.” She insisted that I go out and wait while standing while preparing the table. Only two minutes later, she insisted on us waiting outside Then she told us that she had given the table we chose to two other people because we did not stand??? So I asked the manager or supervisor to inform him of the waitress’ behavior, and they told me that he was not there, haha. Suddenly the manager came out, and I think he is the worst manager or supervisor I have ever met. He replied, “If you don’t like it, go.” There are many restaurant options.

Vimos los precios y no nos pareció caro para el sitio en el que estaba. Entramos dentro ya que tenía aire acondicionado, solo había una mesa. Nos atendieron rápido, pero pedimos agua para beber y no nos traían. La volvimos a pedir y no nos la trajeron encima malas caras. Trajeron la comida y nosotras sin agua. A la media hora ya por fin, por tercera vez, la volvimos a pedir y ya nos la trajeron. La comida tenía muy buena pinta pero llevaba ya 15 minutos en la mesa y se nos quedó fría. El camarero que nos atendió se dedicó a ligar con unas chicas de una mesa y se le olvidó nuestra agua. No repetiremos ni lo recomendamos.

Una experiencia frustrante. Aunque la comida no estaba mal, el servicio fue lamentable, especialmente por parte de la camarera que nos atendió. Su actitud fue de una desidia absoluta. Lo más indignante es que te cobran 4 euros por persona en concepto de 'servicio', pero si no llegamos a reclamar específicamente que nos trajeran los aperitivos que tenían todas las mesas con los Aperol, no nos habrían puesto absolutamente nada. Es inaceptable que tengas que estar mendigando unos aperitivos que estás pagando con creces en la cuenta. Es una pena que un sitio con vistas privilegiadas al Duomo se permita tratar así al cliente. Si vas a cobrar un suplemento por servicio, asegúrate de que el personal esté a la altura. No lo recomiendo en absoluto; es un abuso. Otro detalle extra: Queríamos una cerveza rubia y expresamente nos aseguran que solo hay negra...cuando estábamos viendo servir en la barra claramente rubias...😔

Das essen war leider gar nicht gut. Es war nicht lecker. Ich habe eine pizza mit Pilzen bestellt. Die pilze waren wie wasser. Sie haben sich einfach aufgelöst. Das Restaurant sie hochwertig aus wegen der lage. Aber alles an dem laden ist einfach billig. Die Toiletten sind auch ganz schlimm. Die waren mit Wasser überflutet und dreckig. Auserdem ist das essen zu teuer. Leider schmeckt es nicht nach italienischen essen sondern billigen essen

Sono ormai anni che quando sono a Milano veniamo spesso al ristorante Motta in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele quella dei negozi di lusso. Location comoda nel Centro di Milano vicino al Duomo, con elegante allestimento di design in blu scuro e legno colore mogano con sedie e divanetti interni, con tavoli all'esterno in Galleria delimitate da fioriere, bar interno con bottiglie mai viste così tante e così tanto colorate e scintillanti, atmosfera allegra luminosa tranquilla di una Milano dell'epoca sembra che il tempo si sia fermato al 1928 quando il ristorante fu aperto. L'ultima volta durante le Festività Natalizie ordinammo due risotti con l’osso buco buonissimo adesso durante le Festività Pasquali due enormi piatti di frittura di mare leggerissima, il coperto con diverse qualità di pane ed io preferisco quello alle noci, una bottiglia di vino bianco tenuta in fresco nel cestello ed un budino di riso delicato un caffè un amaro: tutto buonissimo e con materie prime fresche ricercate e di alta qualità. Personale sorridente premuroso attento gentile cortese veloce efficiente professionale ad alto livello e che anche a distanza di mesi si ricorda dei clienti. Persino i clienti discreti silenziosi educati senza vociare fastidioso nè bambini maleducati che corrono per il locale, anche se oltre a persone singole e coppie anche una numerosa famiglia asiatica, tant'è che penso facciano una cernita all'ingresso ed una cernita avviene anche per il prezzo ma giustificatissimo se mangi così ed in Galleria, tant'è che in Galleria ho provato tutti i locali ma preferisco il ristorante Motta. Peccato non essendo a Milano non poterci venire spesso.

Restaurant sympathique et bien situé, mais une cuisine catastrophique. Nous ne sommes même pas parvenus à terminer nos assiettes. Risotto non salé, Ossobucco mal cuit, parmigiana immengeable salade au saumon préparer à la va-vite avec un gros morceau de saumon très étrange. Vraiment dommage au vu de l'endroit. Vraiment à éviter...

Rimane un grande classico con una zona per pranzare e una per le colazioni e aperitivi personalmente non ho mai cenato qui' mi sono fermato per un' aperitivo e per assaggiare i famosi dolci amalfitani di Sal Del Riso (che erano stupendi) insieme ad uno Spritz che era eccezzionale (anche se un po' caro) il tutto con tavolo vista Duomo staff giovane e veloce.

La pasta dura que mal están dejando Italia en el suelo con esa pasta dura que da asco, camarera pésima todo el rato empujando desde la mesa que estábamos sentados, parece que no tenía lugar por donde pasar porque fueron 3 veces y sin un perdón moviéndome la silla donde estaba sentada, el chico de la puerta metiéndose en si quiero pagar en euros u otra moneda y eso es decisión mía, sin disculparse, da pena que sea un restaurante céntrico pero el jefe debería de tener buen ojo a quien contrata porque eso es una basura por culpa de los empleados porque el sitio está muy bien

La volta prima ci siamo trovati benissimo, ci aveva serviti un bel ragazzo alto coi capelli mossi e la barba. Adesso ci sono degli altri camerieri meno esperti e meno cordiali. Consiglio di selezionare meglio i suoi dipendenti al proprietario del locale.

Die schlechteste Pizza die ich je in Italien gegessen habe. Eine Mischung aus Aufback und nicht italienisch. Aufgrund des Ambientes ist der Preis von 15 Euro für eine Pizza Margherita halbwegs vertretbar. Vorsicht fürs Ambiente wird zusätzlich gezahlt. 5 Euro p.P. Tellergeld gibt es oben drauf. Einmal und nie wieder...Kein Geschmack von Italien...Dr Oetker kann es leider besser...

🏛️ Motta Milano 1928: Ubicación inmejorable, comida y precios decepcionantes Puntuación sugerida: ⭐⭐ (2/5) Si buscas el corazón de Milán, Motta Milano 1928 está literalmente allí: en la entrada de la Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II y a pasos del Duomo. Entramos buscando refugio del frío tras una larga caminata, pero lamentablemente la experiencia gastronómica no estuvo a la altura del entorno. 🍽️ La comida: Lejos del estándar italiano Aunque la atención fue amable y profesional, los platos nos dejaron mucho que desear: • La Milanesa: Estaba correcta, pero le faltaba ese sabor intenso y auténtico que esperas en su ciudad de origen. • La Pizza: Fue la mayor decepción de la mesa. No recomiendo ordenarla aquí; hay lugares a pocas calles con mucha mejor calidad. • Ossobuco y Risotto: Platos promedio. En una ciudad como Milán, es fácil encontrar versiones mucho más sabrosas y mejor ejecutadas. 💰 Relación Calidad-Precio El mayor problema es el costo. Es comprensible pagar un extra por la ubicación, pero en este caso la calidad no lo justifica. Un punto muy importante a tener en cuenta es el "coperto" (cargo por servicio): es excesivamente alto comparado con otros establecimientos de la zona. Mi consejo: Aprovecha el lugar para tomar una foto de la ubicación o quizás un café rápido si el clima lo exige, pero si quieres comer rico y a un precio justo, camina unas cuantas calles alejándote de la plaza principal. Encontrarás opciones mucho más auténticas y económicas.

Un véritable attrape-touristes à éviter. Le service est loin d'être à la hauteur : le serveur était malaimable et a carrément renversé une bouteille en cassant nos verres sans même s'excuser. Ils posent du pain et des amuses bouches sans annoncer ce que c'est ni si c'est payant ou non. La cuisine est, quant à elle, très moyenne. Heureusement, la liste des "produits congelés" est précisée sur le menu, car une partie de la carte est manifestement préparée avec ce type de produits. Les prix sont corrects, mais cela ne compense pas le manque de qualité. Ne vous faites pas avoir chers touristes.

OMG, un sans faute du début à la fin ! Du vin au dessert. La burrata au pesto et tomates était à tomber par terre, bien assaisonnée, fondante, et le dessert au citron tout bonnement incroyable !
