03/05/2026Locale stupendo gastronomia buonissima...peccato la furbetta ( ragazza riccia) in cassa che ti fa pagare SEMPRE il cornetto più caro su lo scontrino.Prendi il semplice ti mette a conto il farcito prendi un farcito ti fa pagare uno speciale con granella e fragole a €2.50. Per lavoro mi trovi spesso a passare lì e per 2 spiccetti hanno perso un cliente abituale da ormai qualche mese. Ripeto tutto bello e buono ma il personale va rivisto..ed anche in fretta direi

03/05/2026Il locale si trova a due passi dal Ghetto ed è carino, con una buona varietà di proposte adatte alla colazione, all’aperitivo o a un brunch veloce. Purtroppo i primi piatti non sono all’altezza: li ho trovati piuttosto mediocri. Il vero problema, però, sono i prezzi. Per un aperitivo per tre persone e un solo piatto di pasta abbiamo speso 81 euro, una cifra decisamente esagerata per la qualità offerta. È comprensibile essere in pieno centro a Roma, ma in altri locali, anche più centrali, abbiamo mangiato meglio spendendo molto meno.

30/04/2026Per me un posto del cuore. Un posto che custodisco gelosamente per me e per poche altre persone nei miei pranzi occasionali quando mi capita di lavorare in zona. Il cibo ottimo, l'atmosfera rilassata ed elegante. In quella mezz'ora che passo lì, mi rigenero e vorrei solo che potesse durare di più.

21/02/2026Storico locale che ospitava diversi anni fa il negozio di dolciumi Piperno. Ora simpatico e accogliente locale con ampi spazi annessi al bar ideali per riunioni e colazioni condivise. Ottimo da tutti i punti di vista sia per il cibo che per le bevande. Mi sono trovato benissimo e ci tornerò sicuramente. Lo raccomando vivamente!

11/02/2026Non abbiamo avuto neanche la possibilità di provare il cibo perché la cameriera che ci ha accolti era cosi scontrosa che ci ha fatto sentire i non benvenuti. Chiedendo al mio ragazzo se fosse italiano dopo 10 minuti che lui le stava parlando proprio in italiano (prestare attenzione al cliente voto ‘0’) Magari è tempo di pensare di cambiare lavoro

20/12/2025Sono passato al Gran Caffè Rione VIII quasi per caso e devo dire che è stata una piacevole scoperta. L’ambiente è accogliente, curato, con quell’atmosfera tipicamente romana che ti fa sentire subito a tuo agio, sia per una pausa veloce sia per fermarti qualche minuto in più. Il caffè è davvero buono, intenso e ben estratto, di quelli che ti lasciano il gusto giusto in bocca senza risultare amaro. Ho apprezzato anche la cortesia del personale: servizio rapido, sorrisi sinceri e attenzione al cliente, cosa non sempre scontata nei locali molto frequentati. Ottima anche la scelta di dolci e cornetti, freschi e invitanti, perfetti per una colazione o uno spuntino durante la giornata. I prezzi sono nella media della zona e assolutamente giustificati dalla qualità. Un posto in cui tornerei volentieri, sia da solo sia in compagnia, per un buon caffè e un momento di tranquillità nel cuore del rione. Consigliato.

20/05/2026We returned nearly every day for breakfast or brunch. This place was our favorite! Amazing food. Great service! They even had our coffee order memorized after day 2! There were 6 of us! Amazing food! Wonderful service and friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend.

19/05/2026Expensive and inedible. We went there for breakfast and there was barely anything. We had fried sandwiches which tasted so bad that we didn’t even eat them. Paid 18€ for 2 coffees, 2 HALVES of a sandwich and a piece of bread with cheese. Everything was bad and we had to go somewhere else to eat after. Ending up eating pizza slices around the corner at Pizza Florida - way better - just go straight there rather. Paid less and ate well. This café was the worst café I ever went to. Shocked at the good reviews.

07/05/2026We were staying at a hotel a block away and found this nice cafe. Modern, clean with a professional and friendly wait staff. Comfortable seating, no pressure service. Best coffee on our ten day stay. We went here almost every morning and again a few afternoons for the coffee. After a couple of days they knew our order and had it started when we walked in the door. Search it out if you are in the area. Top notch!

23/04/2026Amazing find. Great place that opens bright and early for morning coffee and delicious croissants. Georgio, the owner is an absolute gentleman who loves his craft. Health mix of regulars and transient travelers. Both the cappuccino and iced lattes are delicious!! The lunch menu is also great with nice Caprese and Margarita pizzas.

18/04/2026Great atmosphere and taste, but watch out for the service fees! "I visited Gran Coffee for coffee, tiramisu, and an Aperol Spritz after a disappointing pizza experience elsewhere in Rome. The cafe is small, cozy, and has a very warm atmosphere. Their pastries, drinks, and wine selection are excellent. While the taste and ambiance were lovely, the pricing policy was quite frustrating. Although the takeaway prices are very reasonable, the table service fees are nearly double the original price. It felt a bit exploitative, which was the only downside to an otherwise great experience. I definitely recommend visiting for the quality, but please keep the service fee difference in mind before you sit down!"

16/04/2026I had an extremely disappointing experience at this café in Rome. From the moment we walked in, the service was slow, inattentive, and frankly unprofessional. We waited far too long just to be acknowledged. The staff’s behavior made things even worse. They came across as uninterested and dismissive, and any attempt to ask for help felt like an inconvenience to them. Unfortunately, the owner was no better—shockingly rude and lacking even the most basic sense of hospitality. It was honestly uncomfortable. The ambiance didn’t help either. The place felt neglected, noisy, and far from the charming atmosphere you’d expect in a Roman café. Overall, it was a frustrating and unpleasant experience, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

I received the food very quickly, but the wine I ordered didn’t arrive until I was halfway through the meal, and only after I reminded the waitress. The whole thing felt rather rushed and not very satisfying. The place was very busy while we were there.

Even as they were nearing the end of their shift, the staff welcomed us in and crafted some of the best Negronis we've ever had. Fantastic atmosphere and highly recommended!

Fui porque quería probar un crusan de pistacho y me ofrecieron también un vaso de agua y me dieron a probar una "crema" que hacen ellos y me lleve una grata sorpresa por su amabilidad y lo bueno que estaba todo. Relación calidad-precio imbatible,pero insuperable el buen ambiente. Da gusto encontrar trabajadores que te alegren la tarde.

Having a welcoming place open and ready makes all the difference. The older gentleman working here is incredibly kind and friendly — the kind of genuine hospitality that makes you want to return. And the pastries? Delicate, fresh, and absolutely delicious. Light, beautifully made, and the perfect pairing with a morning drink. If you’re up early in Rome and looking for a warm welcome and something sweet done right, this is your spot. Edited to add: went back a third time. Wait until after 7am when the maritozzo are out. Pistachio and chocolate stuffed!!!??? These reign supreme!

09/02/2026Ein sehr leckeres, verstecktes und gemütliches Café bzw. eine kleine Bäckerei, genau so, wie man es sich wünscht. Der Service war ausgesprochen freundlich und hat sich Zeit genommen, alles in Ruhe zu erklären. Besonders positiv: Zum ersten Mal haben wir hier einen Cappuccino mit Hafermilch bekommen, der wirklich richtig gut geschmeckt hat. Auch das Gebäck war ein Genuss – ein saftiger Apfel-Zimt-Muffin sowie ein Gebäck mit Pistaziencreme, beide super lecker und nicht zu süß. Ein Ort, an dem man gemütlich sitzen, abschalten und sich einfach etwas Gutes tun kann – für Herz und Seele genau das Richtige. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

01/02/2026I was here with my husband during the early mornings of our trip. We were exclusively serviced by an older gentleman who was very patient with us considering my little known Italian and lack of knowledge considering Italian coffee culture (although we were here so early we were the only ones there). We loved this place do much that we visited multiple times and referred to the gentleman as "Uncle" when talking about this restaurant between ourselves (this is a term of endearment and familiarity in a lot of other countries). The maritozzi was the best I've tried here my whole trip.

25/01/2026El local es bastante amplio y aunque se llena rápido no tuvimos que esperar para encontrar mesa. La atención del personal es correcta (especialmente de Giorgio que sirve el café y de las chicas que nos atendieron) pero a la hora de solicitar la comanda, mientras estabamos pidiendo, no sabemos si por ser extranjeros, nos pasaron por delante otras dos personas más y nos dejaron en stand by sin saber muy bien que hacer. El café estaba bueno y también el dulce y salado. Nos quedamos con ganas de probar el croissant de pistacho.

This place was literally opposite the apartment we stayed in, with a relaxed atmosphere and really good food. I especially loved the fettuccine and the sausage with potatoes—simple but delicious. The casual vibe is great: find a table, grab a drink, load up a plate with whatever looks good, or just pop in for a quick standing espresso and cake. 18/12/2025A Roman colazione in a Roman caffè We came in a cold sunny morning for breakfast and had 3 cappuccinos and an espresso. The espresso was great and so were the cappuccinos (although not hot enough in our opinion). For a sweet start of a clear blue day we had four different pastries/cakes, including a mini tiramisu, a “pizza romana” and a cornetto of pistacchio. The sweets were all good, but not remarkable. The service was kind and ‘chaotically orderly’ - this was part of the charm! The interior was beautiful and cozy and the atmosphere bustling and enchanting.

13/12/2025Das Frühstück des Gran Caffè rione ist einzigartig mit den besten hausgemachten Croissants, die täglich mit Liebe zubereitet werden! Es herrscht eine authentische Bar Atmosphäre. Erwartet euch keine Typische Touristen bar: hierbei handelt es sich um einen Ort der von Römern gemacht und von unzähligen Römern täglich besucht wird! Ein Besuch lohnt sich und ist mehr als nur empfehlenswert! Der Barista Kor empfängt euch und versorgt jeden einzelnen Gast in herzlichster Weise. Fünf Sterne !

11/12/2025Though downtown and in the heart of foot traffic, this sleek/warm cafe was a well needed reprieve from the hustle/bustle. Phenomenal pastries, delicious latte and an impressive array of wines/beer. My wife and I actually took a whole afternoon soaking up this enjoyable space!

11/12/2025I was unfortunately very disappointed with my experience from the moment I walked in. Upon arriving, I waited in line for 5–6 minutes, only to have several customers repeatedly cut in front of me despite my being next in line. It was only after another customer kindly pointed out that I had been waiting for some time that a staff member finally acknowledged and served me. Additionally, while my party was still eating, a staff member placed a “Reserved” sign on our table and informed us it was needed for a later booking later. This felt extremely discourteous and made us feel rushed and unwelcome during our meal. Overall, the experience felt very disrespectful, and given the table charge on top of this, it was not worth it. I hope management can address customer flow at busy times and ensure guests are treated with basic courtesy throughout their visit.

25/11/2025I had a wonderful experience here. The food is absolutely delicious, the service is excellent, and the staff are incredibly friendly. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming — a perfect place to relax and enjoy a great meal. Highly recommend!

18/11/2025Eine sehr angenehme und gemütliche Café-Atmosphäre. Wir waren dort auf einen Kaffee, ein Stück Kuchen und eine kleine Vorspeise. Der Service war sehr freundlich und die Stimmung wirklich angenehm. Der Kaffee war der beste, den ich je getrunken habe, und der Kuchen war ebenfalls sehr lecker ❤️

Kawa jest po prostu mistrzowska – aromatyczna, podana w idealnej temperaturze, dokładnie tak, jak we Włoszech. Do tego dochodzi szeroki wybór świeżych wypieków i przekąsek, które nie tylko wyglądają jak małe dzieła sztuki, ale smakują jeszcze lepiej. Czuć, że każdy składnik jest tu starannie selekcjonowany, a jakość stoi na pierwszym miejscu. Na osobne wyróżnienie zasługuje obsługa – niezwykle uprzejma, uśmiechnięta i dbająca o każdego gościa z ogromną klasą. To jedno z tych rzadkich miejsc, gdzie pasja właścicieli przekłada się na każdy detal. 12/01/2025Very good place for breakfast and Italian snacks, we absolutely loved it! The breakfast selection was impressive with fresh pastries, quality cereals, and delicious bread options. The Italian snacks were authentic and delightfully prepared, you can really taste the quality ingredients. The coffee was excellent, exactly what you’d expect from an Italian establishment. The staff were warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, perfect for starting your day. Prices are reasonable for the quality you’re getting. We tried several items during our visit and everything was consistently good. The presentation of the food was appetizing and the portions were generous. It’s clear they take pride in what they serve. We definitely came back for more during our stay. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic Italian breakfast and snacks! A real gem in the area :)
