One of the most unfriendly places we visited during our trip. The staff were rude, impatient, and seemed bothered whenever we asked a question. Their tone, facial expressions, and overall behavior were unpleasant throughout our visit. Definitely not child-friendly and not a place where customers are made to feel welcome. Very disappointing experience.

Imo a very overrated pizza. If you come here expecting a life changing, best pizza in the world you will be disappointed. They do only traditional Neapolitan style pizza. Found it wet, ingredients sliding off and not worth the chaos waiting for.

We heard 100X that this needed to be a stop on our trip, so we came by today for lunch. There was no signs or direction on how to order, and a lot of tourists seemed confused...no worries, we asked. A long line on the side of the building was for ordering to go. And if you wanted to sit down you grabbed a ticket number. We got a number and waited. Our number was skipped, but we thought maybe they were calling small parties first, we were a group of 5. My husband went to show the man our number and he said, you need to wait and so we did. Another 10 or so groups were called and got a little impatient so my husband went again and tried to speak with the man. He sort of yelled at my husband that why didn't he come tell him sooner....which he had tried? Anyways. He did try to accommodate us quickly after that, but we did wait about 40mins total I would say. We sat down and a middle aged woman took our order but she was quite rude. The whole time she was staring down a table next to us, it seemed she was focused on if they were paying their bill to the counter instead of her. (We understood later why she was so worried about this). We got 3 pizzas and 4 small cokes for the table. Our pizza came basically uncooked. The pizza was raw and soaked and we couldn't even cut it. The only part that was sort of cooked was the crust. There was too much commotion in the store to even talk to anyone. So we ate the edges, drank our sodas and just wanted to leave. We looked around for a server but we didn't see anyone so, my husband got up to pay the man at the little desk at the front and we found out they charged us 1€ a person to sit down, so a 5€ total for us, which we understood as a service fee, that's fine makes sense since we used up some space. My father and I were last to leave the table and this original female server comes yelling at us that we didn't pay. So I show her the receipt, I tried to be understanding that maybe they have dealt with people skipping out? So I tried not to taking the shouting too much to heart. I don't know but I was calm and wanted her to feel comfortable that we had paid our bill. She nods that she sees it and then proceeded to keep her voice raised and tell us that this didn't include her tip which was mandatory. I don't know why I would tip you for crap service and uncooked food. My father wanted to leave without making a scene so he dug out 3€ from his pocket for her. But I regret not telling her to keep their voice down and that if a tip was required they should put it on the bill and walk out. 0/5 Service 1/5 Food

The best pizza Ive ever have in my life!!! The cheese on top of Margherita is outstanding. Very crowded and need to wait for a while (about 40 mins for us to eat at the pizzaria). The staff were so so. I gave the full score esp for the pizza itself.

The only reason I gave it a 4 star is the long wait. It is too famous for its own good. Wait can stretch from an hour to 3 hrs or more depending on the time you come to eat. The giving away of the numbers is also highly disorganized. No proper lines so usually the loudest or rudest person gets waiting numbers assigned quicker than those waiting patiently. I also saw that if you wait by the door and bribe the person assigning the tables around €10 you get a table right away. This is outrageous because the pizza only cost €8. Once we got seats, we ordered our pizzas and waited. Meanwhile our pizzas was served to another table who came much later than us and the our server was scolding the other server for giving our pizza to the other table. All these chaos does dampens the overall experience. In the end I felt like the pizza taste was not worth all the wait and hype. It's good no doubt but worth waiting annhour or more? You will have to decide

Maybe the best pizza in naples, if you are a fan of flat pizza. There's almost always a huge line, but the service works fast and in a polite way. Inside the restaurant has a cool vibe. Plus is also very cheap. Highly recommended

this place does NOT deserve the rating it has. we saw the number of reviews this place had and decided to try. big regrets. worst pizza of my life and never thought it would be in the literal birthplace of pizza. the cheese was in clumps, the tomato sauce was flavourless, the dough was soggy, and the crust was so burnt my friend couldn’t eat it. not only that, their service was also very disappointing. there was not only a lack of it, they even demanded tips at payment.

I think it was better before? I am trying to give it the benefit of the doubt but the pizza crust itself was burnt, the cheese clumped up and was not melted properly and it wasn’t hot but warm. They asked for tips even though no service was really given, if there is a line I would recommend finding another place to go, we could sit in straight away so that was our only plus, and that it was not too expensive because I shared a pizza with my friend. Sit in requires 2 extra euros and tips on top btw.

I was very excited to finally try this famous pizzeria and didn’t mind the long wait, as the crowd suggested it would be worth it. Unfortunately, it was a disappointment. The tomato sauce was good, but the dough was underproofed, burnt, and flat. During our trip, we visited around 10 pizzerias, and this was unanimously the worst pizza dough we had. It’s a shame that a pizzeria with over 150 years of tradition seems to have sacrificed quality for quantity.

I’ll start with the positive: the pizza is very good. It has one of the best tomato sauces I’ve ever had, and the prices are surprisingly affordable. Unfortunately, the overall experience is pure chaos. I’m honestly shocked by how disorganized everything is, especially because a few simple changes could make a huge difference. First, the place is packed with tourists, so if you’re ordering takeaway, expect to wait anywhere between 15 and 30 minutes. The biggest issue is the queue system, or rather, the lack of one. For dine-in customers, you receive a ticket and wait for a table. However, there is no designated line or waiting area, so people are standing around randomly, trying to figure out where they should be. Everyone seems confused, and the entrance area quickly becomes crowded and chaotic. For takeaway orders, there is a separate queue, but these customers don’t receive tickets. Instead, staff simply call out names when orders are ready. This creates even more confusion, as people don’t understand why some customers have tickets while others don’t. Another downside is that there are very few places nearby to sit and eat. There are only a couple of benches, and trying to enjoy a pizza there can be quite uncomfortable and messy. In the end, the pizza is undeniably good, but for me it isn’t good enough to justify going through such a frustrating and disorganized experience again.

Long wait times but queue was managed effectively and added to the experience a little. However the pizza really needs to be eaten there and then, any takeaway more than 2-3 minutes from the pizzeria will result in soggy and cold pizza, it still tastes nice but certainly not the best pizza in Naples. A lot of char in the pizza too so parts of it can taste burnt, assume this is intentional but not to everyones taste.

We visited after seeing all the hype on social media, and we have to say the food absolutely lived up to expectations. The pizza was fantastic, fresh, flavourful, and definitely worth the visit. Unfortunately, the service let the experience down. The lady serving at the main entrance yesterday was very abrupt from the moment we arrived. There was no greeting or welcome, and throughout our visit there was very little customer service beyond bringing the pizza to the table. At the end of the meal, when we asked to pay by card. We were told that tips were "cash only," which came across quite rudely. We normally tip as a gesture of appreciation and respect for good service, but on this occasion it felt as though we were being pushed into tipping despite receiving very limited service. It's a shame because the food was excellent and is the reason we would consider returning. However, a friendlier and more welcoming approach from staff would make a huge difference to the overall experience.

I am a Person of color. There is an brown waiter (most likely indian) wearing a hat. Pretty racist. Acted like we are not present in the room. Didn't clean the table for 15 mins. Other tables got cleaned even before people got seated. Took orders of people who got seated after us before us. Brought out food for other tables even when they ordered 15 mins after us. They had ordered the same item - margherita pizza (which 90% of the people do) so it's not even like the kitchen was able to make other things faster. And then this guy was strongly soliciting tips at the end. He ignored us a couple of times for the bill also. Finally got it. Started his charade asking for tips. I called out the shitty service and denied tips. The guy didn't question because he knew how bad he was. Only thing worth appreciating about the lad.

Very disappointing. I came back after five years, still remembering what was probably the best pizza of my life. Unfortunately, this visit was a huge letdown. The pizza was almost raw in the center. I appreciate the soft, slightly soggy texture of a true Neapolitan pizza, but there is a difference between soft dough and undercooked dough. The tomato sauce was also surprisingly acidic. I vividly remember the Marinara being my favorite pizza because the tomato sauce had incredible depth and umami. This time, that was nowhere to be found. We didn’t finish our pizzas, and neither did the table next to us. Maybe we were unlucky, or maybe this legendary pizzeria is no longer what it once was. I’ll let others decide.

Very disappointing experience. We traveled from far away to visit this famous pizzeria and arrived at 10:15 PM while the posted closing time is 11:00 PM. We were refused entry and told they were already closed. When we mentioned the official closing time, we were told that "11:00 PM means we're already at home by then." The attitude was rude, dismissive, and unwelcoming. If customers cannot be served after a certain hour, the opening hours should reflect that. Unfortunately, the customer service was far below expectations.

I had a very mixed experience with this restaurant. When viewing the location on Google maps, there was an option to book a table through a WhatsApp number attached to the property. We confirmed the booked and when we arrived we were brought across the street to the restaurants second property which was a very different vibe to the original. We wanted to go there for the history and atmosphere and it felt like we were shipped off to a lesser option. We explained that we booked this location and were told that the second place across the street is where the reservations get sent. The food was great but the lack of atmosphere and short staffing along with being sat in an entirely different restaurant than we had specifically booked just resulted in a negative experience overall

I understand the significance of this place and the story behind one of the oldest pizzerias in Naples, it’s great that they’re keeping the tradition alive. When we came here, we knew it was something that had to be tried and appreciated. But, hand on heart, the God’s honest truth is that I’ve had better pizza. Hell, I’ve even made better pizza. The whole experience feels extremely touristy: you wait in line for at least half an hour, every single employee looks utterly fed up with the crowds, probably cursing their job under their breath, and it really shows in their demeanor and lack of politeness. I get the hype, I get that it’s a sort of pilgrimage, but honestly, you can probably find at least fifty better pizza spots in this city alone.

Ein Besuch in der L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele ist weit mehr als nur ein Essen – es ist ein Stück neapolitanischer Kultur. Weltweit bekannt wurde die Pizzeria unter anderem durch den Film Eat Pray Love mit Julia Roberts, und nach meinem Besuch kann ich verstehen, warum. Die Pizza ist beeindruckend schlicht und gleichzeitig perfekt: ein luftiger, leicht elastischer Teig, hochwertige Zutaten und ein Geschmack, der zeigt, dass man für eine grossartige Pizza nicht viel mehr braucht. Die Margherita war hervorragend und absolut ihren legendären Ruf wert. Natürlich haben sich auch hier die Zeiten geändert: Während die Pizza früher für rund 5 Euro zu haben war, kostet sie heute etwa 6.50 Euro. Angesichts der Qualität, der Geschichte des Ortes und des Erlebnisses selbst ist das jedoch nach wie vor ein bemerkenswert gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Die Warteschlange gehört fast schon zum Ritual, doch die Organisation ist effizient und die Atmosphäre einzigartig. Wer Neapel besucht und die Wurzeln der neapolitanischen Pizza erleben möchte, kommt an Da Michele nicht vorbei. Eine Institution, die ihrem Kultstatus gerecht wird. 🍕🇮🇹👏

Si dice che sia la migliore pizza di Napoli, ma credo che sia discutibile, perché ci sono molti posti a Napoli altrettanto buoni, se non migliori, che preparano pizze eccellenti. E a dire il vero, la qualità è superiore alla Pizzeria Gennaro Piccolo. In ogni caso, L'Antica Pizzeria da Michele è uno di quei locali iconici di Napoli dove la gente non si fa problemi a fare la fila. Ha posti a sedere all'interno, ma in quel caso bisogna prendere un biglietto e aspettare ancora di più. In ogni caso, non è proprio un posto dove venire a rilassarsi. Se si ordina da asporto, cosa che consiglio (non serve biglietto/numero), ci sono solo quattro pizze tra cui scegliere. Non aspettatevi un bicchiere di vino rosso o un Aperol Spritz (li potete trovare dall'altra parte della strada, alla Cafetaria Brasileana). Tutto è ridotto all'essenziale. Listino prezzi allegato. PS: È molto difficile parcheggiare qui, quindi consiglio di andare a piedi.

Cibo abbastanza buono e classico, nulla di troppo elaborato. Menù super carente, tempi di attesa alti per mancanza di professionalità da parte del personale, spazi ristretti (un cameriere mi ha spinto la sedia varie volte in 30 minuti. Servizio poco professionale, il cibo in un tavolo si consegna tutto insieme, è inconcepibile avere un attesa di 15 minuti per mangiare insieme.

Napoli è sempre Napoli! Volevo assaggiare una pizza fatta come si deve nel posto dove la pizza è sacra, tutti mi hanno parlato ottimamente di questa pizzeria e ho avuto la conferma provandola. Servizio veloce (consiglio vivamente la prenotazione), menù composto da 4 pizze, meglio poche ma buone , io e la mia ragazza abbiamo preso la margherita. Che dire...la pizza usciva da tutti i bordi, ENORME...ma nonostante ciò, buonissima e leggera, tant'è che non sono stato male né il giorno stesso né il giorno dopo. Il prezzo è giusto. Consiglio vivamente di provare almeno una volta nella vita....una PIZZA con la P maiuscola

일요일에 나폴리 3대 피자집중 이곳만 오픈해서 11시 오픈 시간 맞춰서 갔어요. 신관 본관 처럼 2개가 도로 하나 끼고 붙어있었고 앉을 자리 없길래 텤아웃 한다 하고 바로 결제했는데 그 이후로 자리 많이 나서 결과적으로 못앉고 피자도 늦게 나왔답니다 ㅠㅠ 히잉 메뉴 3개밖에 없길래 빨리 나올줄 알았는데 대량으로 만드는지 결제하고 30분 이상 걸렸어요 그래도 맛은 잇드라구요. 외쿡인들 1인1피자 하는데, 피자에 아무것도 안올라간거 1인1개 씩 먹을라니까 약간 물려서...텤아웃 할거면 한국인들 2인1판 추천해요. 텤아웃하고 매장 옆 서서 먹는 테이블에서 먹을수 있어요. 마르게리따가 맛있었습니다

Wir standen ca. 10min fürs Bestellen und Abholen an. War Okey. Es gab nur eine Auswahl von zwei Pizzen was nicht der Karte vor dem Eingang entsprach. Service war OK. Von der Pizza hab ich ehrlich gesagt mehr erwartet. Teig und Tomatensoße waren jetzt nicht so der Hit. Da gibt es in der Umgebung von dem Lokal einige andere Restaurants die eine Pizza viel besser machen.

Veldig god pizza👌🏻 Skjønner at den står på michelin-lista. Noe travel stemning inne, men god service. Lang kø, men gikk egentlig ganske raskt. Tok bare noen minutter fra vi fikk bord til pizzaen var servert. Mange spiste ute langs fortauskantene, men vi valgte bord etter en lang dag med gåing. Spiser gjerne her igjen, men da tror jeg at jeg ville tatt maten med ut😊
