We made a reservation, almost two months before the arrival, specifically for an outdoor table, expecting to enjoy the view of the Duomo. Instead, we were seated inside, where the cathedral was completely hidden from view. What made the situation even worse was the feeling that some guests were clearly treated better than others. It genuinely seemed as though there was a selection process between “preferred” guests and everyone else, and unfortunately we felt like we belonged to the latter group. The service was inattentive from the start. We were not even given a small plate for the complimentary appetizer, which felt careless and unprofessional. The food was another major disappointment. The dishes arrived cold, excessively greasy, and lacked flavor. Considering the prices and the restaurant’s reputation, the quality was far below expectations. The entire meal felt rushed and poorly prepared. Overall, this restaurant appears to rely heavily on its location rather than on quality food or customer service. Between the poor treatment, the disappointing food, and the failure to honor our reservation request, this was one of the most underwhelming dining experiences we have had in Milan. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend it.

We visited with a reservation, and upon arrival, the staff promptly confirmed our booking and kindly escorted us to our preferred table. As the sun was quite strong and clear, we chose a table by the window inside rather than sitting on the outdoor terrace. We were fortunate to be seated at a wonderful table with a breathtaking view of the Duomo Cathedral right in front of us. The staff were friendly and attentive, answering all of our questions and accommodating our requests with a smile. Thanks to the excellent service and beautiful setting, our family enjoyed a truly memorable dining experience.

Fantastic food, flawless service, and a stunning view of the Duomo — what more could you ask for? The whole team was incredibly professional, but Ruiz stood out on another level — attentive, charming, and the kind of host that makes you feel genuinely welcome from the moment you walk in. With views from our table nothing more would be required. Yet the service, food and atmosphere were excellent. I’d highly recommend. My only proviso - it is expensive but worth it IMHO.

Fabulous place. Not only it has the wonderful view on Piazza del Duomo. It was without the doubt best food and service we recived in Milan. Very competent service. The staff was friendly, conversational, smiling, and made sure we didn't miss anything. The wine recommended by the waiter, despite the price of 95 Euro per bottle, was delicious. The food was of a very high standard; both the taste, appearance, and texture were perfect. Thank you very much for the wonderful afternoon, and we will definitely return if the opportunity arises.

it is a great spot for aperitivo, has nice view! service was bad in my personal opinion, we wanted top enjoy some aperitif and snacks and were ok to pay for a more expensive bottle of champagne in order to meet the minimum spent but we were forced to order one main dish per person and we had to order food that we did not want, and it was ok food, cant say it was fantastic or even great, maybe because we were not hungry!

I ultimately gave Da Giacomo Arengario 5 stars, but if I’m being completely honest, my true experience felt closer to a 2–2.5 star evening(my server is what saved it because I don’t want that score reflected on him) There were quite a few misses that made the overall experience fall flat. The hostess stand, for example, was overcrowded with staff, yet somehow still inefficient despite having a reservation, it took about 5 minutes just to be acknowledged and seated. It immediately set a disorganized tone that didn’t improve much throughout the night. I also think it would really benefit management to take a closer look at their reviews and actively work on correcting these patterns. Before visiting, I noticed several negative comments on TripAdvisor, but I prefer forming my own opinions. Unfortunately, I can say many of those reviews held weight. That said, the one standout and truly the only reason this review didn’t go much lower was my server, Matteo. His service was exceptional. He was attentive, kind, on top of everything, and genuinely turned around what started as a disappointing evening. He is an asset to your team and completely saved the experience. It’s also worth mentioning that I dined at Al Baretto on my first night in Milan, and they set the bar incredibly high. The level of service there was beyond excellent something I’ll continue to rave about. In comparison, Da Giacomo Arengario would do well to aim for even one-third of that level of hospitality. Overall, there’s a lot of room for improvement, especially when it comes to staff attentiveness, organization, and guest experience. Matteo showed what great service looks like now the rest of the team just needs to catch up.

Thank you for such a wonderful experience last night. Everything was exceptional from start to finish. Our reservation was handled perfectly, and the table we were given was exactly what we had hoped for. The service was outstanding — the staff member who took care of us was incredibly kind, attentive, and welcoming throughout the evening, always smiling and making us feel genuinely comfortable. The food was absolutely delicious, and overall it was a truly memorable experience. I will definitely be coming back again.

Their blend of coffee was fantastic! Having a coffee in a nice, quite, beautifully decorated surroundings was refreshing, especially when so close to the Milan Cathedral Duomo. The Complementary water and biscuits accompanying our coffees really elevated the flavour and brought out all the tones to new levels. Over all this has been one of the best places in Milan for coffee I've been to so far. I look forward to coming back on my next trip. This time I'd look forward to trying their food and aperitifs.

We visited this restaurant from İzmir, Türkiye, specifically to celebrate my birthday, which we had clearly mentioned when making the reservation. Unfortunately, despite this note, we were seated at a table in the back that had no view of the Duomo Cathedral at all — instead, we were facing the columns. The table placement and overall seating plan were quite disappointing given the occasion. The service pace also felt rushed. The dishes were brought out very quickly, almost as if we were expected to finish as soon as possible. Additionally, the wine service was not handled properly. The wine was served warm even though it should have been chilled, and new wine was poured on top of the existing glass before it was finished, which is not correct wine service etiquette. Considering the prices, the overall experience did not feel justified in terms of value for money. We have dined at much higher-quality restaurants with better pricing and service — for example, Gloria Osteria. That said, Rebecca was very kind and attentive, and we would like to thank her for her effort and hospitality.

The view of the Duomo is fantastic from here! The food was tasty as well. I ordered the Turbot fillet which comes in a lemon butter sauce with a few capers over a bed of spinach. My friends enjoyed their dishes as well, one of whom ordered the langoustine scampi (she asked them to cook the langoustine, because it’s usually served raw). The other had the Tortelli cacio e Pepe. None of the dishes were out of this world, but they were a tasty meal and seemed like a decent price for dining with a view of the Duomo. The manager, Theo, is fantastic as well. He speaks 6 languages, he’s in his 20’s, so polite and attentive; he helped with the service. I love seeing a manager pitch in. Cocktails were tasty as well. The Mirror lake is floral tasting. The Green Salomon had a hint of basil, and our other friend ordered a chocolate cocktail. All were delicious.

I booked this restaurant as an anniversary meal and my priority was a memorable location with superb food. Well, we were certainly not disappointed. As you can all tell, the location and view are sublime. We had a wonderful evening. 1. The staff were very attentive, knowledgeable, polite, multilingual and totally add to the memorable experience. Their knowledge of the menu, their wines, their cocktails and all dish ingredients is first class, as you'd expect. 10/10. 2. We were offered the cocktail of the day once we had been taken our seats, and it was, of course, lovely. Our waiter went through our likes, its ingredients and similarities to others, and it was delicious. An easy 10/10 there. 3. We went for ossobuco, tuna tartare and a turbot for two with potatoes & artichokes. It was scrumptuous, and was expertly cleaned/ filleted at our table. The flavours were amazing and each dish was absolutely delicious. We shared a lemon tart dessert and it too, was delicious. Again, 10/10. 4. The view, well, just look at the photo. 20/10 here, but you must ensure when booking, that you select a table with a view of the Duomo, as there are a couple of tables that are situated by thick columns, and are totally blocked from view. 5. The price, whilst not cheap (what do you expect for this view?), but was reasonable for the experience and location; absolutely no complaints at all. A resounding 10/10!! All in all, highly recommended for an utterly memorable experience, and my girlfriend was bowled over by the whole experience. Highly, highly recommended.

We had a very disappointing experience here. The waitress was extremely rude, and from the moment we arrived, it felt like we were not welcome. She repeatedly cleared our dishes even though we were clearly not finished. My dessert wasn’t even halfway eaten before it was aggressively taken away. I don’t understand why she seemed so eager to rush us out. It was a paid meal that we unfortunately couldn’t even enjoy properly. What made the experience worse was the feeling that the service may have been biased, which is deeply uncomfortable and unacceptable. I wish I could share a more positive experience, but based on the service we received, I cannot recommend this place. For anyone considering dining here, I suggest choosing a place that truly respects and values its customers. Judging by the ratings, it seems many others feel the same way.

Very disappointing experience. The service was really bad. The staff kept giving us unpleasant looks, which made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome from the beginning. Even though some things were free and the drinks were okay, it doesn’t make up for the terrible service. The atmosphere was not friendly at all, and we really didn’t enjoy being there. It’s not the kind of place where you feel relaxed or well treated as a customer. Overall, I didn’t like the vibe and I do not recommend this place to anyone visiting Milan.

We ended up choosing this restaurant because we wanted to try again ossobuco risotto, which appeared very frequently in reviews, and because for our last meal in Milan we wanted to enjoy a beautiful view of the Duomo. Upon arrival, the waiter informed us that they were offering a short menu, but we still didn’t know what it would include. We assumed the ossobuco risotto would be available, as it seems almost guaranteed and standard in about 90% of the restaurants we had seen in Milan. Unfortunately, the menu was extremely limited and didn’t include almost any of the dishes we had seen mentioned in reviews. Since we had a return flight shortly after, we didn’t have time to leave and look for another place. Because of that, we chose risotto alla milanese and tuna tartare. Literally nothing what you see in the reviews wasn’t available. The food was okay - fresh, but nothing special or memorable. The risotto was creamy but very ordinary compared to others we tried during our stay. The tuna tartare looked so delicious but was served with a large amount of vinegar, which completely overpowered the natural flavor of the fish. So acidic that it makes your face twist. On top of that, the coperto was €8 per person, which I did notice in the menu so just keep that in mind. Overall, nothing special unless you mainly want to enjoy the view of the Duomo. Rather a tourist attraction. The place is kinda overpriced for the quality of the food and only worth it if the view is your priority. The staff was very polite, but this didn’t quite match other details, such as the condition of the restroom (no toilet paper). The menu choice was also very limited.

Upon entering they told us that each person must order one dish. They had broken time and it was nice to catch the lunch time period. Since our dad ordered their €195 bottle of white wine (it was very good I tell you) I guess they were more ok with us staying there. View is spectacular!! And highly recommend the spaghetti. Until now I still crave for it. Food was good too but the waiter forgot our appetizers. They brought it when we all were dont with the main course. But we needed to leave. So we had them pack for take away.

On our last night in Milan we walked into this restaurant hoping for just a good meal but we got so much more. Even without a reservation they found a way to get us a small intimate table for 2 with a view of the Duomo. Matteo our server was the very best - it is like he had a sixth sense for what we would most enjoy and he was spot on each time. I simply cannot say enough about this gem of a restaurant with a staff that views service as an art. 20 out of 10 stars all day and if our travels ever take us back to Milan - this will be our first stop!!!

Стоит иметь в виду, что помимо coperto 8 евро с человека, не спрашивая несут и включают в счет хлеб за 5 евро и воду. Таким образом, на двоих около 25-30 евро вы оставите здесь просто по факту того, что сели за столик, даже если ничего не съедите

Che dire? Giacomo é un istituzione di Milano. Sono stato svariate volte nel loro bistrot, però incuriosito dalla location straordinaria ho deciso di portare mia madre per un occasione speciale nella sede all’interno del museo del 900. Staff gentilissimo, in particolare la ragazza all’accoglienza che ci ha accomodati in un tavolo con una vista stupenda. Sicuramente un must per il cibo e location, ma la gentilezza dello staff é la ciliegina finale che mi fare tornare in questo ristorante .

Simplemente espectacular. Almorzar o cenar con el Duomo de Milán literalmente frente a ti es una experiencia inigualable. El diseño Art Déco del restaurante es elegantísimo y crea un ambiente muy sofisticado. Es el lugar perfecto para terminar la visita del museo Novecento. Recomiendo reservar en la terraza para disfrutar al máximo de las vistas de las plazas.

Мы зашли сюда случайно поздно вечером, возвращаясь из Ла Скала. У моей мамы был день рождения. И захотелось чего-то праздничного. Я вспомнила про бар в музее Новеченто. Поднявшись, мы остались и поужинать. Нас после короткого ожидания посадили за столик с замечательным видом на Дуомо. В выборе блюд и в течение ужина нам помогала официант Ольга. Чудесная добрая девушка. Очень внимательная и заботливая к гостям. А ещё за соседним столом была Дита фон Тиз. Вечер точно удался. Блюда великолепные, вид самый красивый в Милане.

Estremamente deluso. Ed è davvero un peccato, perché solo poche ore prima ero da Da Giacomo in zona Risorgimento: accoglienza impeccabile, servizio attento, un’esperienza all’altezza. Proprio per questo avevo voglia di tornare più tardi, magari solo per un caffè, qui in Piazza Duomo. Errore. All’ingresso, l’uomo con la cravatta verde, calvo: atteggiamento svogliato, distaccato, quasi infastidito. Ma soprattutto un’enorme mancanza di rispetto nei confronti di mia sorella. Nemmeno uno sguardo negli occhi. Un comportamento freddo, fuori luogo, indegno di un posto che pretende un certo livello. Qui non si parla di un dettaglio: è l’accoglienza, è la base. E quando è così carente, rovina tutto ancora prima di iniziare. È incomprensibile come, sotto lo stesso nome, si possano avere due esperienze così opposte. Questo indirizzo, purtroppo, non è all’altezza della reputazione del gruppo. Così non viene voglia né di fermarsi, né tantomeno di tornare. Milano, e Da Giacomo, meritano ben altro.

Unica pecca nel servizio è che ho dovuto sollecitare un calice di Barolo, ma chi lavora può sbagliare: il livello del cibo e della location mi hanno fatto perdonare l'attesa di buon grado. Il risotto con ossobuco e il Barolo erano i due pezzi forti. C'è dell'eccellenza in questo ristorante e tornerò.

Disappointing lunch experience. We were charged for 8 oysters even though we had only ordered 2, increasing the oyster charge from €16 to €64, despite having ordered other dishes as well. There were no other oyster orders in our section, which makes this mistake difficult to understand. Ho mangiato una deliziosa pasta italiana, cotta alla perfezione con un sugo saporito ma non troppo pesante. La porzione era perfetta e si vedeva che era stata appena fatta. Il servizio è stato eccellente; il personale è stato attento e cortese per tutta la durata del pasto. L'atmosfera era piacevole, con una sala da pranzo confortevole e non troppo rumorosa. È un posto dove si può mangiare in tutta tranquillità e senza fretta. Sono uscito soddisfatto e con la sensazione di aver fatto un'ottima scelta. Tornerò sicuramente.

Najlepsza restauracja! Robiąc rezerwację na 30 urodziny napisałam że zależy mi na widoku. Przychodząc zapytano nas jaki stolik sobie życzymy -wielki plus! Jedzenie przepyszne a ceny adekwatne do poziomu i miejsca restauracji. Wielkim zaskoczeniem było przyniesienie przez kelnera ciastka ze świeczka i zaśpiewanie sto lat mimo tego że nie zamawiałam dodatkowo takiej usługi. Obsługa na najwyższym poziomie ale bez zbędnej maniery. Polecam z całego serca!

Come sempre: servizio impeccabile, ambiente perfetto e cibo al top. Una vera garanzia. Attualmente è il mio ristorante preferito nel centro di Milano; non ho ancora trovato altri posti con un servizio così eccellente e accogliente, unito a una vista simile. Jako volim fine dining restorane, ali ovaj to nažalost nimalo ne opravdava. Hrana je prosječna, a cijene su drastično prenapuhane isključivo zbog lokacije i prelijepog pogleda, bez stvarnog pokrića u kvaliteti. Dodatno, ugođaj je razočaravajući jer nema grijanja pa boravak nije nimalo ugodan. Jedina svijetla točka je profesionalno i ljubazno osoblje.
