15/06/2026We stumbled upon Sugo not expecting much, but wow, I wish I could give a million stars to Sugo and their staff! The vibes were high during lunch, the food and dessert were AMAZING, and the owner and entire staff were so friendly and warm. The sparking rose, Carbonara and Tiramisu were delicious. We will definitely be back. Thank you guys! <3

09/06/2026I have debated writing this review for a while, but my experience was disappointing enough that I feel it deserves to be shared. I genuinely left wondering whether race played a role in how my party was treated. For context, I worked in the restaurant industry for nearly 10 years, so I understand that busy nights, staffing issues, and occasional delays happen. I am typically very patient and rarely leave negative reviews. My partner, cousin, and I visited on Saturday, May 16. When we arrived, the restaurant appeared to be only about half full. The hostess immediately asked whether we had a reservation. When we said no, the staff spoke among themselves while we awkwardly stood there waiting for several minutes before finally being seated. After being seated, we waited about five minutes before a server came over to take our drink order. Another five minutes passed, and we still had not received even our water. During that time, two white gentlemen were seated nearby. They appeared to be walk-ins as well, yet they received a noticeably warmer welcome and much more attentive service. Fifteen minutes into our visit, we still had not placed our food order despite the restaurant not being particularly busy. We attempted TWICE to get our server's attention so we could order, but he ignored us both times. What made the situation even more frustrating was watching him walk directly to the table next to us, take their order, and then make sure their wine was served immediately. Rather than simply turning around and acknowledging our table—which was right next to theirs—he continued to avoid us altogether. By that point, it was becoming increasingly difficult to understand why our table was being overlooked while guests who had arrived after us were receiving prompt and attentive service. Eventually, he came over, but instead of apologizing for the delay, his demeanor felt dismissive. He looked at my cousin and me and gave the impression of, "Okay, I'm here. What do you want?" We ordered our food and a glass of wine. Even then, he didn’t immediately grabbed our wine like he did the table next to us. After waiting several more minutes, we had to ask another server to bring it to us. At this point, the table seated after us had already received their drinks and food before our order had even been fully processed. The experience left me questioning whether there was an underlying bias in how we were treated. I cannot say with certainty what motivated the difference in service, but the contrast between how our table and the neighboring table were treated was difficult to ignore. To make matters worse, when I went to pay, I discovered a service charge had been added to the bill. After the level of service we received, that felt particularly frustrating. I do not enjoy leaving negative reviews, and I certainly do not make accusations lightly. I am confident that management can review the camera footage from that evening and verify the sequence of events and the level of service we received. While I cannot know the intent behind the treatment we experienced, the stark difference in attention and hospitality between our table and others left a lasting impression. This remains one of the most disappointing dining experiences I have had in years. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, investigates what occurred, and ensures that all guests are treated with the same level of respect, attentiveness, and hospitality, regardless of their background.

08/06/2026A wonderful surprise in the heart of Milan. We were looking for an authentic Italian restaurant near the Duomo and found exactly what we hoped for. Despite being in such a central and touristy area, this restaurant felt genuine, welcoming and focused on quality rather than quantity. The staff was friendly, attentive and happy to explain the menu and offer recommendations. Service was well-paced, and every dish arrived exactly as ordered. The fresh pasta was outstanding, clearly homemade, and the ingredients tasted fresh and carefully selected. What impressed us most was the atmosphere: a mix of locals and visitors enjoying great food in a relaxed environment. It’s refreshing to find a place so close to Milan’s main attractions that still delivers a real Italian dining experience. Excellent value for the quality offered, especially considering the location. We ended up returning during our stay because the first experience was so good. Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic Italian cuisine near the Duomo. Definitely not a tourist trap—just a great restaurant serving delicious food with genuine hospitality

08/06/2026Worst experience in Milan. Zero stars if I could.We were visiting Milan for the first time and looked for an affordable restaurant near the Duomo. Since we had limited time before our flight, we booked a table online in advance to avoid waiting. We arrived 15 minutes early, and to be fair, they seated us right away. Another minor plus was a waitress who helped us open the English menu on her phone when the QR code failed. Sadly, those were the only positive things.Everything else was a disaster. First, the staff could barely understand simple Italian dish names when we tried to order. We noticed that tables around us who arrived later were getting served much faster. After a long wait, they brought us Risotto alla milanese (€25) instead of the Risotto aspargi, pecorino e menta (€22) that we actually ordered.When we pointed out the mistake, the male waiter insisted that we ordered it. We replied, "Please, just bring us the bill." Then, a girl from the bar counter came over and said, "I'm sorry, but our waiter doesn't speak English well. You ordered this dish and, unfortunately, we cannot remove it from the bill, so you must pay for it." Since we didn't have the energy to argue, we said, "Fine, just bring us our bill." For example, in any normal restaurant, if a dish is out of stock, they inform you beforehand. They don’t just swap it for a more expensive item on their own whim and then force you to pay for their mistake.To make matters worse, the food we did taste was absolutely awful and tasteless—we couldn't even finish it. On top of that, we overheard them from the corner of our ear discussing us in Italian near the bar counter. They didn't realize that even though we spoke English to them, we understand Italian perfectly.This place ruined our impression of Milan. Next time, it’s better to pay more and go to a proper restaurant where staff actually understand what "customer service" means, recommend dishes, and apologize for their mistakes instead of discussing guests. Avoid this tourist trap!

What a treat. What a great find! The veal cheeks were absolutely amazing. Santiago was a knowledgeable and friendly server, helping pick great wine pairings. Order the tiramisu!

17/05/2026What a great find this restaurant was. Despite arriving not long before closing, they seated me happily, and gave me plenty of time to look over the menu. This restaurant has a clear emphasis on northern Italian cuisine. The wine selection was great, as was the fried artichoke/tatare starter. For a main course, I had the risotto milanese with roasted bone marrow, which was outstanding… served with a split roasted marrow bone alongside the risotto. The dish was rich and authentic, And worth a repeat order. The staff could not have been any friendlier, and I look forward to a return visit next time I am in Milan.

17/05/2026I walked in on a Thursday lunch hour with no reservations. The place was full except for one last table. I was dining solo. The server was extremely kind and gave me that last table. There’s an English menu via QR code. I found my new love - the veal tonnato was SO delicious. And then I had the asparagus risotto! Also fantastic. I highly recommend this place.

18/05/2026Esperienza davvero ottima da Sugo Milano. Abbiamo iniziato con un amuse bouche di pappa al pomodoro che ho adorato, semplice ma davvero pieno di sapore. Come antipasti abbiamo pres la focaccia fatta in casa, morbidissima e praticamente si scioglieva in bocca, il carciofo alla giudia con tartare di Fassona e maionese alla senape, un abbinamento davvero riuscito, e un cestello di cotoletta con maionese al rafano, croccante e saporito al punto giusto. Poi siamo passati al risotto alla milanese con ossobuco: cremoso, ricco di gusto e preparato con ingredienti di qualità. A finire, guancia di vitello brasata al vino di visciola con purè di patate: carne tenerissima, saporita e cotta alla perfezione, accompagnata da un purè delicato che completava benissimo il piatto. Servizio gentile e atmosfera molto piacevole, in una posizione comodissima vicino al Duomo. Esperienza super consigliata, ci torneremo sicuramente!

12/05/2026Siamo stati da Sugo, per un pranzo veloce la domenica, abbiamo prenotato, altrimenti non ci saremmo potuti sedere da quanta gente arrivava costantemente. Cibo dinortima qualità, cucina tipica milanese, rivisitata e attuale, fantastico il risotto. Buona scelta di vini. Se devo trovare l'unica pecca, i tavoli sono molto vicini e c'è poco spazio nel locale, che è molto piccolo, consiglio di affiggere un cartello di completo alla porta, per non avere sempre la porta aperta, con via vai di gente che chiede se c'è posto. A parte questo, promosso!
