Abbiamo pranzato in questo locale durante il nostro soggiorno a Madrid e l'esperienza è stata davvero ottima. Abbiamo mangiato e bevuto molto bene, con piatti gustosi e prodotti di qualità. Anche il rapporto qualità-prezzo è stato eccellente, con prezzi onesti per quanto offerto. Sangria memorabile! Un plauso speciale al personale, sempre gentile, disponibile e veloce. Se torneremo a Madrid, sarà sicuramente una delle nostre tappe fisse. Consigliatissima!

La ragazza dei cocktails e' bravissima, simpaticissima, gentile e velocissima. Direi che e' l'anima del locale. Senza di lei El Sur puo' cambiare nome. Tutto lo staff comunque e' lodevole. Pur essendo in zona centrale, i prezzi sono onesti e i turisti non sono pestati a sangue come avviene, aime', in molti altri locali

Piatti tipici, vari, molto buoni. Sangria e tinto de verano gustosi e freschi. Personale davvero gentile e accogliente. Ambiente un po' piccolo ma sa di taverna, carino. Prenotazioni? Non so se le ricevono, ma si trova quasi sempre posto dato il ricambio veloce di clienti. Poca attesa per le ordinazioni e le portate. Super consigliato!

Locale piccolo, ma molto molto bello. I chipirones, la tortilla e le empanadas sono super! E il servizio è il migliore di Madrid: tutti simpaticissimi e ci hanno anche offerto degli shot a fine cena. Si è divertito anche nostro figlio. Da provare.

Smaczna paella, podawana w porcjach. Mało owoców morza w porcji, np. 1 krewetka. Super smak bazy ryżowej. Sangria zdecydowanie za droga, mało w niej wina, zupełnie się nie opłaca. W smaku mało wyrazista, głównie napoje jakieś.

Wir waren jetzt schon das dritte Mal hintereinander (in drei Jahren) dort. Leider hat die Qualität des Essens der Service abgebaut. Eher lieblose Essenspräsentation. Nervige Musik. Das Servicepersonal war mehr mit sich selbst beschäftigt und der Musik als sich um Kunden zu kümmern.

Yo mecquedo entre dar 3 y 4 estrellas. Al principio, todo muy bien. Me sentaron rspido y sirvieron muy rapido ( primer y segundo plato a la vez) el primero era un delicioso salmorejo pero el segundo era en caliente, un secreto, asi que tuve que tragar en lugar de comer. El secreto estaba ok. Sin embargo, creo que era mas bien magro. Cuando estaba sopesando pedir postre me trajeron la cuenta y ka máquina para pagar con tarjeta, a pesar de que quería pagar con efectivo. En 10 segundos estaba fuera. Solo querían lamesa para los siguientes. No se di volvería allí, el ambiente esta bien pero si sabes que te van a echar de malas.....

サングリアは美味しかった、果物もたくさん入っていたので満足度が高かった。白ワインは普通。 料理に関しては基本的に塩の味付が強い。とりわけパエリアに関しては塩味が強すぎて海鮮の本来の味がしなくてとっても、残念😖。全く繊細な味わいや旨味はなく、ただただ”塩味“。。。 塩の味わいが好きならいいです!

We had empanadas, tortilla, pork cheek and mash, and jamon iberico with fried eggs. All was delicious, specially the pork cheek. We also got some cheese cake to go. Great prices for the amount of food we got compared to other restaurants around this area. Would eat here again!

This was not our first visit to this restaurant. We have been a number of times before, but I decided it was time for an update. This little bar is not a super deluxe dinning establishment, it is a wonderful Taberna with a good range of drinks including vermont on tap, typical of so many bars in Madrid. The wine list is small with a reasonable selection of good priced wines. A wonderful selection of starter and main dishes to enjoy. Don't over order there isn't the space on your table, service is good even when very busy. Tables are small and the stalls for table eating are smaller than most, but don't let this deter you, there is a bench seat against the wall running both sides of the entire length of the dinning area. It always appears to be busy so it can feel a little cramped, but that all adds to the atmosphere. During our meal we spoke to our neigbouring tables on one side a couple from Canada who first visited with their son and this was their second visit. On another table sat 4 young students they dine here regularly. Considering this the age ranges from young 20's , a couple in their 50's and us two young at hart retired 69 & 73 year oldies. I hope this all helps explain the warm welcome and wonderful atmosphere that makes this restaurant our favouite when visiting Madrid and I do suggest you give it a try, but remember it is a bar not a 5star restaurant, but excellent value for money Our bill may not be typical of others but we did go a little overboard with 4 starters between us, 2 mains and a shared desert not to mentioning bottles of wine, water, beer, liquors and coffees. Our total spend does include our tip for the great service.

Taberna El Sur was one of the most authentic dining experiences we had in Madrid. Tucked away in a neighborhood that feels far from the tourist crowds, it has the charm of a true local tapas spot. The restaurant is small, so be prepared for a wait during peak hours, although we arrived later in the evening and were seated right away. The food was excellent, with delicious traditional Spanish tapas that lived up to the restaurant’s reputation. What made the experience even better was the friendly service. Our waiter was welcoming, attentive, and took the time to make conversation, which added a personal touch to the meal. If you’re looking for authentic Spanish food and a local atmosphere, Taberna El Sur is definitely worth a visit.

Super soirée à la taberna El Sur de Madrid. Nous étions passés la veille pour connaître le fonctionnement de l'établissement. Super accueil du gérant nous avait dit de passer le lendemain à partir de 22.30. Sans réservation, une table restait effectivement disponible. Super plats à partager. La carte est variée et la cuisine est excellente. Certains plats sont bien relevés. L'ambiance peut être bruyante. Le public présent est plutôt jeune... C'est l'Espagne telle qu'on l'aime !

The food was okay, but nothing special. Based on the reviews, we expected something amazing, but it didn't live up to the hype. We paid around €25 per person and still didn't leave feeling full. Honestly, I suspect some of the positive reviews might be influenced by the fact that they give two rounds of free shots at the end.

A Taberna El Sur é uma excelente opção para quem deseja saborear uma boa comida espanhola em um ambiente agradável. Os pratos são saborosos com bastante variedade, ótimas bebidas e atendimento acolhedor. Legal do local são os quadros com filmes que imagino que foram produzidos na Espanha. É interessante não chegar muito tarde no final da tarde para não enfrentar filas.

This was hand down the best meal we had in Madrid. The tortilla is to die for, we also enjoyed fried aubergine, garlic shrimps and some padrones. Nice staff , very cozy place with tables extremely close to each other, which I personally enjoy.

Ambiance détendue en plus d'avoir un service agréable, cependant la cuisine était plus que décevante. Tout d'abord la pieuvre que nous avons commandé était bien cuite MAIS les assaisonnement était non maitrisé( il y avait l'environ de 4 cuillère a soupe de paprika fumé sur la pieuvre)Le goût naturel de la pieuvre a été camoufler complètement par les assaisonnement qui ont été non maîtrisée. Mais surtout notre déception est en rapport a la paella. En tant que voyageur qui venait goûter les saveurs authentiques de l'Espagne nous avons été grandement déçu par la qualité de ce plat. Des meilleurs paella sont définitivement existente dans Madrid. Si vous venez pour goûter au saveur traditionnelle, d'autre choix serait a considéré.

Such a fun and easy first lunch in Madrid. The staff were super helpful. Strip steak with potatoes was unreal. Perfect crust and medium rare on the inside. Salad with cured salmon and avocado felt so fresh and light, which was perfect on a hot afternoon.

Taberna El Sur was a wonderful find. The food was absolutely amazing, especially the salmorejo which was excellent and perfectly prepared. Prices are perfectly fine and fair for the quality you get. Just one tip: go early! The place is very popular, so if you don't arrive ahead of time, you will probably need to wait a bit for a table. It is definitely worth it, though. Highly recommended!

Muy mala atención por el encargado de la puerta que es el dueño según nos indicó alzando la voz, además recalcó que no era un mesero cualquiera (como si eso fuera un problema). No volvería jamás. Ese señor es un grosero y mal educado. Qué vergüenza de lugar. Mi amiga entró y por accidente se tropezó con él en la puerta. A pesar del tropiezo, que lamento que haya sucedido, pregunté muy amablemente si podríamos tomar algo en la barra. Nos dijo que para tomar algo en el bar de la otra esquina y de muy mala manera y para finalizar, nos dijo que no nos dejaría entrar jamás, creo que esas tampoco son formas y menos tratando con dos mujeres.

Eine sehr schöne Taverne mir urigem Ambiente, sehr aufmerksamen und freundlichen Service. Die Tapas waren sehr lecker. Es ist kein Ort zum verweilen da eine Schlange auf der Straße wartet um einen Tisch zu ergattern. Aber es lohnt sich, sehr zu empfehlen!

I had a very tasty lunch at Taberna El Sur! It was busy, but not overcrowded. The restaurant is tiny, there are no big tables and large comfortable chairs, but they make the most of their limited space. Waiting staff is very friendly, the menu is small but offers a nice variety. I had the croquetas and the ropa vieja and it was delicious. They offer a lot of their food as full and also as half portion, that is something I love in Spain!! Everything else the tables around me ordered looked very good too! I would definitely come back next time I am in Madrid

お昼のオープンと同時に入店しました すぐに座ることができました！ お店の方が親切に道を教えてくれておすすめの料理も教えてくれました。 サングリアは今まで飲んだ中で1番美味しかったです 海老のリゾットと美味しく、シーフードパエリアは少しカレーの風味も感じ美味しく食べることができました！ 1番美味しかったのはベイビースクイッドです！ これはハーフポーションも頼むことができますがフルポーションをお勧めします。 本当に美味しいです。

I was looking for a good place for a decent paella. The seafood paella was very very delicious and it came in single or double portions which is great as a lot of places only do paella as a minimum of 2 people and this can be expensive. This place was really nice and we had a sangria each, and shared the paella and huevos rotos con jamon which were both delicious. The only reason this is a 4 star and not a 5 is we ate at a lot of different and more authentic feeling places.

Ótima experiência! Pedimos uma massa e um risoto de camarão, ambos muito gostosos. O risoto é bem servido a massa é bem menos, mas ambos muito saborosos. Ótimo atendimento e ambiente!

I’ve been to this place four times in the last six months when I visit Madrid. I went because the price/value was amazing. Since then, the food prices have gone way up and I wouldn’t go back. Some of the prices (octopus) have increased 50%. Better options elsewhere.

They’re now too popular with the tourists! Prices have gone up 50% between October 2025 and now. Lines are now at least 15 minutes long. Food (octopus, shrimp, squid, paella) is still good though value is not there anymore. Very touristy
