23/03/2026Probably a 4.5 star pub overall but came for a Sunday roast (after hearing plenty of hype about how good they are from hospitality staff and instagram) so expectations were high... In reality it didn't match up to the hype... pros veg was very good and seasoned well as was the gravy. There were a lot of different flavours on the plate and most of them complimented eachother very well. Cons. Potatoes and Yorkshire puddings weren't great and honestly frozen aunt Betties have more flavour and are generally nicer to eat. And finally while the price is reasonable for what you'd expect for a Sunday roast the portions didn't match up, I've paid the same/less in other places and have had a meal of similar/better quality with more on my plate. Overall roast was a letdown (based of high expectations tbf). Despite that it's still a great pub and the beer and food on a weekday is incredible but I'd go elsewhere for Sunday Roast.

22/03/2026First time in this pub. I really wanted to come to try the Beamish. Bonus that there was a pool table upstairs that was free to use. Only downside was that there was a man on bar that was being really rude to the other members of staff. Everyone was really friendly and working hard so seemed unwarranted.

Overall, it seemed like a student bar/pub. £70 for two mains, two sides, and two drinks, one lamb roast and a stuffed sweet potato vegetarian roast. The food was very tasty and it did come out fairly quickly, but sadly the surroundings looked quite tired, and it became very noisy very quickly.

08/03/2026I visited The Brunswick with my family over the weekend and unfortunately it was a very disappointing experience. Before booking, we looked at the restaurant’s Facebook page and online reviews. The photos and description of the top floor dining area looked appealing and gave us the impression that it would be a pleasant place to enjoy a family meal. Sadly, the reality was very different from what was presented online. The condition of the top floor did not reflect the images shown on social media, which was probably the most disappointing part of our visit. The food itself did not meet our expectations. The taste was not enjoyable for us, and considering the prices on the menu, we did not feel the quality justified the cost. We had been looking forward to this weekend meal together, so it was disappointing that we could not enjoy the food. What concerned us even more was the cleanliness of the dining area. The table had no tablecloth and there was visible dust on the surface. Around the window area we noticed cobwebs, dust, and areas that appeared not to have been cleaned for some time. There were also clear marks and signs of damp or possible mould on parts of the wall and near the window frame. In a place where food is served, this was quite surprising and uncomfortable to see while dining. Some of these issues can be clearly seen in the photos we took during our visit. Cleanliness should be a basic standard for any restaurant, and we believe this is something that needs attention and improvement. This was our first visit, and sadly it did not leave a good impression. We are simply sharing our personal experience as honest feedback. We hope the management will take this into consideration and improve the cleanliness and overall dining environment in the future. Photos from our visit have been included for reference.

02/03/2026Really good Sunday lunch. Happy with price, portion size and all elements. Location is a bit small and is closer to a bar then let's say a gasto pub so good for friends but not my preferenced sort of place. Service was friendly but a tad slow with them taking a long time to clear plates and never bringing us the dessert options we asked for so we just got the bill and went elsewhere. Overall will for sure go again for Sunday lunch and want to try the other food aswell

25/01/2026The best burger I've ever had in my life. Honestly it was so tasty, seasoned just right and the smash burger was cooked perfectly and the cheese was soooo good! The chips/fries were also cooked and seasoned perfectly, just the right amount of crispness and fluffiness! Very good price for how good it was, cheaper than five guys and better than five guys! 10/10 would recommend!!

03/11/2025Went here yesterday for a Sunday roast, we weren't happy about the amount of time we have to wait for the food and no apologies or notice given, the table next to us ordered 30 minutes after us but received their food first when we have been waiting for almost an hour for a Sunday roast covered in gravy, value for money I wouldn't recommend the place

18/05/2025Heard great things about the Sunday roast so was excited to give it a try. Food arrived an hour after ordering which was disappointing, but was more surprised that the staff offered no explanation. Would not have been too disappointed if they would have explained they were busy or something along those lines but they just gave us our food as if it is normal to have customers wait an hour. On top of that, they added a service charge without asking after the mediocre service we received. Chicken and carrot was lovely but gravy was a bit weak and rest of roast was nothing special.

14/04/2025If you want a Sunday roast - don't book an evening slot. Chances are they won't have what you want. Had been recommended this place by a friend, booked 6pm on Sunday. Planning ahead, we wanted a porchetta roast with cheesy leeks as we'd heard these were incredible. The server came with disappointing news that they had neither porchetta or cheesy leeks left. Then the four of us ordered, including 2 chicken roasts and 2 pork stuffing. The server returned to let us know that they only had 1 chicken and 1 pork stuffing left. So of our group, only one person could actually have what they'd intended on ordering. Then for dessert, there was a big chalk board advertising a basque cheesecake, I'd spotted that on my way in and planned on getting it to ease my heartache from the cheesy leeks. Well, you can probably guess the outcome of that.... no cheesecake!

25/03/2025Were regulars here and they're always welcoming and friendly, special shout out to alfie and paige who's customer service is second to none and really take the time to get to know you, and always offer a friendly chat and learn your orders, lovely people and beers are always amazing here as are the burgers, me and my partner both agree the burgers are way better than the burgers we had at flat iron the other week! They do burgers and a pint for £12 on Wednesdays so make sure to check that out!

Bloody Mary’s to die for. I’d say I’m leaving on cloud 9 but I can’t cos I’m currently too heavy full of top roast. Uber it is.

27/10/2024What a find. Drove to Leeds for Sum 41 concert and just dropped in for something to eat, and so glad we did. Really good selection of drinks and the food was just incredible. The burgers were just amazing, and the fries too. Would absolutely make an effort to come back if we are in the area again. Bonus points for several cute dogs in the bar. Shame it's 2 hours drive from our home!!

My only gripe was it was quite cold when we first arrived. Don't worry though the food will certainly warm you up! Recommended and we will definitely be visiting again.

08/07/2024Lovely neighbourhood pub - came for the Sunday BBQ and loved all of it - food was absolutely delicious and was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome as it was my partners birthday ❤️ had to come back the next day to enjoy a few more of the excellent drink selection in the sun. 20/11/2023We had the Sunday roast and it was delicious. Services was very accommodating to us bringing our two young children. Make sure you book or you probably won’t get a table. Portions were good for a roast and the gravy was so yum. We also had a cocktail which was really nice. The Brunswick has such a good atmosphere for a rainy Sunday afternoon. We loved it.
