13/06/2026Reservations are required if you want to get a table! However we did manage to get a seat at the bar without prior booking but it was the middle of the day. Cacio e peppe was v good. Do not recommend gnocchi, but overall great experience.

My wife and I waited nearly 20 minutes before we had to flag down a server to order water, which seemed to agitate the staff a bit - an experience which does not seem uncommon given other reviews. The carbonara, their standout dish, was underwhelming. You can get equal or better at many other spots in the city. The only standout was the wine recommendation (which we got after having to flag down a server).

The carbonara was what we came for, and it sadly wasn’t what we had hoped. The main standout was the cold cuts and cheeses.

We were lucky enough to get a reservation the night before after I’d been checking for 2 months before. They can accommodate gluten free and I had GF Carbornara. They only have penne pasta but was still very good!

30/05/2026I booked lunch at Roscioli months out to make sure I could come and we were not disappointed! The service was exceptional and the staff were warm and attentive. The food itself was delicious; prices may be slightly higher due to the high quality of the dishes but the portions are generous and the quality is itself so worth it. I would recommend a visit to anyone but make sure to book in advance! Alternatively, head to their deli just down the road for takeaway produce but expect queues as well! They are popular and it shows.

24/05/2026I only had the carbonara and sparkling water during my visit. The service was amazing and the location is great as well. Unfortunately, I found the carbonara quite salty and slightly firmer than what I am used to (though I apologize if this is the traditional style). That said, the bacon pieces had an amazing texture and were probably my favorite part of the dish. In terms of service, the staff member kindly gave me a complimentary biscuit with chocolate sauce, which was absolutely delicious. I wish I had room for a coffee to enjoy alongside it, but I was quite full after the carbonara. They also had a great selection of gifts and souvenirs, as well as a deli section that could be useful if you’re staying in Rome for a longer period or looking for something to bring home. Overall, I had a positive experience and would simply advise those with dietary restrictions related to salt or sodium intake to keep that in mind when ordering.

It was a lively experience watching the servers bustle around and the chefs slice meat and prepare dishes! The Cacio e Pepe did not disappoint and the mozzarella was by far the best I have had in Rome

16/05/2026We tried to eat at the Salumeria for few days since we stayed in the neighborhoid, and one day we managed to and it was worth the wait...since there are no reservations we waited a bit to eat at the bar (restaurant is semi-closed for part if the day), the staff was attentative and helpful, the food was excellent and made with quality ingredients (they have everything made in house Roscioly branded, beer, spritz, etc...), but the atmosphere is something that elevated that whole experience, hectic italian surroundings, but at the same time relaxed...

11/05/2026Totally over-rated!! Sadly Rocioli is not the restaurant it used to be. It is now a tourist trap and the quality of the food has declined substantially. It has appeared in too many guidebooks and blogs. We used to love it but never again for us!

04/05/2026I'd been looking forward to this meal for a long time — Roscioli had been recommended to me by multiple people. The salumeria looks fantastic, the selection is clearly impeccable, and the way the menu is built around its ingredients is a lovely touch. Unfortunately, the service let the whole experience down badly. We had a 9pm reservation and weren't brought menus until 9:40. We ordered bread, which arrived almost half an hour later — basically at the same time as our mains — and had to remind staff multiple times throughout the evening. When we called them over, they'd sit and wait a moment before actually coming. The wine markup is around 40%, which feels excessive and makes it nearly impossible to stay under €50 for a decent bottle. The tiramisu was great, but the biscuit was completely flavourless. The bathroom was in a shocking state — wholly unacceptable for a restaurant at this price point and with this reputation. When we asked about a T-shirt, the response was dismissive and rude. And if you're seated outside, be aware you're essentially sitting next to an open Carrefour supermarket — a real vibe killer. The food itself was very good, but the service did it a serious disservice. We won't be returning.

Their pasta is amazing, particularly the cacio e pepe, and their tiramisu is always a memorable treat. 02/05/2026This is a reservation only restaurant in the wine cellar of a phenomenally stocked deli near Plaza Navona. The dining area is cozy but comfortable and offers many of the cured meats that one walks by on the wat to the restaurant. We started out with a bread bowl which had a delicious selection of breads and was accompanied by fine salami, soft cheese and pesto. We then has the tasty fried oxtail stew stuffed flowers and pastas (Greek, similar to Cacio e Pepe and Amatriciana). The meal was rounded out with delectable desserts - tiramisu and luxardo cherry ice cream with herbal tea and espresso. Would definitely eat there again!

01/05/2026I went there to buy some local products, but the experience was extremely disappointing. The cashier, a woman around her 50s, was incredibly rude and, quite frankly, came across as openly racist. From the moment I arrived, she looked me up and down in a very judgmental way, which immediately made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Her behavior towards me was noticeably different. While other white customers were treated politely, she barely acknowledged me. After I paid for a pasta, she didn’t even make eye contact or say thank you. This kind of treatment is unacceptable. Management should be aware that this behavior reflects very poorly on the business and can lead to serious issues if not addressed.

You’re essentially eating inside a giant, refrigerated treasure chest of the best cured meats and cheeses in Europe. The meat plate here is a revelation. They don't just slice up whatever is in the fridge. You’re getting hand-selected Salame di Varzi, melt-in-your-mouth Mortadella (the real stuff, hand-cut), and wild boar hunters' sausages that actually taste like the countryside. The Carbonara is a masterclass in balance—creamy without cream, using guanciale that is perfectly crisp and pecorino that provides just the right sharp kick. Book weeks in advance.

20/04/2026An absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. The burrata with tomatoes, carbonara, beef tartare, and every other dish we tried were simply outstanding. Even though we were already full, we couldn’t resist ordering desserts, and we’re so glad we did. The tiramisu was truly heavenly. This place feels like a real food dreamland. Highly recommended. The staff was 5 stars also.

The menu is extensive, so I said: “this is too much—take me on a journey.” From there, everything locked in. It was fun, precise, and dialed. Not no-choice, not overwhelming—just the right options at the right time: * “Try these” * “This wine” * “Next” Every step felt natural. Every decision felt right. 23/11/2024I love this casual eatery that’s part provedore part restaurant and wine bar. Yes it’s packed and bustling, the staff are busy and you’re in and out quickly as they want your table – but in my experience they get good simple food, drinks, service and hospitality right! Grab a stool at the counter if you can and enjoy the show of the staff and other guests – part of the Roscioli vibe comes from your fellow diners (and the Van Morrison soundtrack). Deep-fried oxtail-stuffed zucchini flowers were very good, crisp and tasty. Both pasta Amatriciana and alla gricia (a Roman classic like an egg-less carbonara) were excellent with crunchy guanciale cubes. Good sbagliato cocktail and wines by the glass. Complimentary dessert of doughnut with thick chocolate sauce for dipping is a nice touch.

03/06/2026Di solito mangio bene, sempre al bancone. Avvolte l'atmosfera è un pò troppo frenetico, ma se vado presto, l'esperienza è migliore. Recentemente la cicoria era stranamente molto difficile da masticare - chissà perché. Ho anche notato qualche volta che lo staff è davvero stufo dei turisti; c'è una mancanza di pazienza. Capisco sia difficile essere sempre gioviale, ma questo lavoro lo richiede.

19/05/2026식전빵 따로 없습니다!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 4유로짜리 메뉴고, 주문 받을때 마지막에 빵 필요하냐고 물어봅니다. 본인들이 못 알아들어먹고 인종 차별 당했다고 헛소리 좀 하지 마십시오. 왜 빵 없냐고 그 자리에서 물어보면 대답 다 해줄텐데. 웰컴디쉬로 모짜렐라+바질페스토. 페스토가 맛있어서 돌아올때 한병 사왔습니다. 부라타 치즈가 워낙 평이 좋아서 트러플 뿌린 걸로 시켰는데 치즈는 정말 맛있더군요. 반대로 트러플은 치즈에 묻히는 감이 좀 있어서 아쉬웠습니다. 파르마 햄 프로슈토 세트도 감칠맛 좋고 와인이랑 잘 어울렸습니다. 혼자라 다 먹긴 힘들어서 남긴 건 포장해달라고 했습니다. 그리고 카르보나라인데 한국인 평균 입맛엔 확실히 짜다고 느낄법 합니다. 근데 이게 감칠맛을 염도로 쳐주는 형태라 이유 없이 짠 건 아닙니다. 익숙하냐 아니냐의 문제라고 봅니다. 와인도 전제하는 느낌이구요. 메인 요리로는 문어를 시켰는데 프레시한 느낌이라 직전까지의 무거운 느낌을 눌러줘서 좋았습니다. 현지 음식 중에서도 좀 극단적으로 재료의 맛이 강조된 형태라 한국인에게 호불호는 강할 것 같은데 저는 아주 맛있게 먹었습니다. 유명한 가게니까 멋모르고 부모님 모시고 간다거나 애초에 외국 음식 안 익숙한데 한번 가볼까 하는 분은 비추합니다. 이탈리아 염장 재료들이 메인인 만큼 와인 한잔이라도 안 마실 분도 비추합니다. 반대로 진짜 좋은 재료로 만든 음식 맛보고 싶다 하는 분들은 강추합니다.

La serve solo Roscioli, storica bottega frequentatissima da gente del luogo (ben informata!) e personaggi mediaticamente noti, sempre al pieno della propria capienza. Una salumeria che fa rima con salute quotidiana per il nostro corpo: oltre 150 varietà di salumi e 350 formaggi diversi, con più di 2.800 etichette vinicole selezionate da cantine italiane ed estere. La ricetta del piatto è quella tradizionale, secondo la formula originale datata al Sette-Ottocento napoletano: pasta voluminosa e liscia, alla maniera mediterranea, per amalgamare meglio il condimento; guanciale artigianale di suino nero selvatico, dalle irrinunciabili qualità nutrizionali; pepe a iosa distribuito uniformemente, per connotare il genuino significato del nome assegnato alla pietanza; uova aggiunte a mo' di crema, integralmente e senza rimuovere gli albumi; pecorino romano bello saporito, in perfetta accoppiata con gli altri ingredienti di provenienza animale. Il personale mi ha piacevolmente colpito, molto molto accogliente e alla mano, ottimo per scambiare chiacchiere e farsi qualche risata. Coccolato con cura, anche da portate omaggio, ho varcato in tarda serata la soglia dell'uscio soddisfatto appieno. Un angolo di benessere e piacere, quasi un'osteria godereccia d'altri tempi.

13/05/2026Avevo grandi aspettative e non sono rimasto deluso. Avevo scelto il posto per mangiare la carbonara e il giudizio non può che essere stra positivo anche se l'hanno servita con le mezze maniche al posto dello spaghetto. Cottura perfetta , cremosità , ma soprattutto il guanciale superlativo. Croccante al primo morso per poi polverizzarsi in bocca in una esplosione di sapore. Materie prime di grande qualità. Qui l'asticella si è alzata decisamente e da questo momento in poi il punto di riferimento per la carbonara sarà questo locale. Bravi!

11/05/2026Das Essen (Carbonara, Tiramisu, Brotkorb, Wein) war hervorragend. Die beste Carbonara, die wir bislang gegessen haben! Der Service war sehr aufmerksam und effizient. Auch der Einkauf von Delikatessen vorab im Laden verlief gut. Allerdings war die Dame am Empfang so unfreundlich und arrogant, dass es dafür einen Abzug gibt. Wir hätten dem Service gern Trinkgeld gegeben, was aber nur in bar geht. Auch hätten wir noch ein paar Einkäufe getätigt, aber ihr Benehmen war so unterirdisch und unwirsch, dass wir gegangen sind.

Praticamente insapore e con pochissimi gamberi, peraltro crudi. Servizio disattento, lento e scortese. Il caffè ha impiegato più di 5 minuti ad arrivare al tavolo. Un'esperienza davvero negativa.

Per un tavolo bisognava aspettare almeno un’ora abbondante, ma avendo sentito parlare molto bene del locale abbiamo deciso comunque di fermarci. Per fortuna! Abbiamo incontrato Paola, che ci ha fatto sentire subito a casa: simpatica, professionale e sempre attenta ai clienti, come se fossero amici. Ci ha serviti con energia e ironia, nel classico stile romano che rende tutto più autentico e piacevole. È stata una serata davvero divertente e rilassante. Torneremo sicuramente per Paola… e, ovviamente, anche per il cibo! Complimenti al cuoco e a tutto il team: bravi, bravi, bravi! LUCA

Per il resto, grande delusione: i piatti cucinati sono lontanissimi dalla vera cucina romana, poco curati e chiaramente pensati per accontentare turisti poco esigenti. Il punto più basso, però, è il servizio: camerieri scortesi, arroganti e fuori luogo, che si permettono battute inutili e fastidiose. Un comportamento inaccettabile che rovina completamente l’esperienza. In sintesi, un posto che vive di apparenza ma che, tra cucina deludente e servizio pessimo, difficilmente merita una seconda possibilità. The ingredients are decent, with cured meats, cheeses, and the wine selection being the only things worth mentioning—and probably the only real reason to stop by. Everything else is a major disappointment: the cooked dishes are far from authentic Roman cuisine, poorly executed, and clearly designed to cater to undemanding tourists. The lowest point, however, is the service: rude, arrogant waiters who feel entitled to make pointless and annoying jokes. Completely unacceptable behavior that ruins the entire experience. English In short, a place that relies on appearances but, between disappointing food and terrible service, hardly deserves a second chance.

18/04/2026Een echt leuk typisch Romaans restaurant, zeer lekker van eten een hele goede prijs. Zeker voor een 1 ster restaurant. Als je er naar toe gaat zeer goed kijken want je loopt er zo voorbij. Gezellig en klein. Alle gerechten vers van uit de toonbank. Echt aanrader. Goede tip online reserveren is noodzakelijk en optijd zijn er staat een klok op als je 15 min te laat bent is je reservering weg.Soms met een beetje geluk kan je misschien nog een tafeltje vrij hebben als je niet reserveer. Probeer een tafeltje achter in de zaal te verkrijgen. Aan de ingang zitten is niet zo leuk maar dat moet je erbij nemen. Smalle doorgang.

18/04/2026Abbiamo cenato in due nella “cantinetta”, che richiedeva una prenotazione con largo anticipo. Nonostante il nome, non è un locale esclusivo. I tavoli sono molto ravvicinati e ci siamo ritrovati incastrati tra un tavolo e una colonna centrale. Per iniziare, abbiamo ordinato un piatto di salumi da dividere, di buona qualità. Tuttavia, il pane non era incluso nel coperto. Dato che la mia ragazza è intollerante al glutine, abbiamo chiesto pane senza glutine, che costava 4 euro per due fette contate. Il pane con glutine, invece, costava sempre 4 euro, ma era molto più abbondante, sufficiente per tre persone. La mia ragazza ha ordinato una tartare senza infamia e senza lode, mentre io ho scelto una gricia. Non avevo mai mangiato una pasta del genere: era cruda, dura e immangiabile. Per renderla più “saporita” agli occhi degli stranieri, il formaggio della gricia era stato riempito di burro. Inutile dire che sono stato male tutta la notte; l’unico aspetto positivo del piatto è stato il guanciale. Per concludere, abbiamo preso due caffè, sperando di digerire la pasta. Durante il pasto, abbiamo anche ordinato un’acqua e una bottiglia di rosso da 30 euro (i calici costavano da 10 euro in su). Il conto totale è stato di 128 euro con carta, ma c’era uno “sconto” di 5 euro se si pagava in contanti, per un totale di 123 euro. In sintesi, è stata una cena da dimenticare, con prezzi alti e ingiustificati. Non ci torneremo mai più.

15/04/2026[지극히 제 개인적인 입맛으로 리뷰를 작성합니다] 3줄 요약 1. 음식이 맛있지만, 파스타는 나에게 심하게 짜다. 2. 파스타가 1시간 10분 뒤에 나왔다. 3. 다음 일정 다 밀리면서 틀어질 뻔 했다. —————————————— 유명 유투버 분들을 보고 방문하였지만…일단 일반적으로 음식이 제 입맛에는 너무너무너무너무 짜네요ㅠ 우선 먹은건 1.구운 아티초크 2. 버팔로치즈&썬드라이토마토 3. 카치오에페페 +와인 입니다. 12시반에 입장해서 음식시키고 한 20분 있다가 1,2번 음식이 나왔는데 1번은 한국에서는 먹어볼 수 없는 색다른 맛이었고 2번은 정말! 너무너무너무 맛있었어요 그런데 3번 음식이.. 1시간 10분 뒤에 나왔습니다. 저희보다 늦게온 테이블 중에 이미 음식을 다 먹고 나간 곳도 있는데.. 저희 음식에 늦게 나왔네요 (인종차별이 아니라, 중국집처럼 한 메뉴를 한번에 조리하는 느낌? 이었습니다) 와인은 이미 다마셨고 배도 어느정도 부른 상태에서 맛을 봤는데… 와….. 너무 짭니다… 진심 너무 짜요! 제가 이탈리아 음식을 잘 몰라서 그런거 같기도 하지만, 4일차 동안 다른 음식은 괜찮았는데 여기는…맥주나 물 없이는 못먹을 정도 였어요. 10/04/2026바에서 혼자 먹었는데 터프하신 누님이 서빙해주심. 영어 못하거나 어물쩡거리면 서비스 제대로 못받을수도 있겠다 싶었음. 그냥 당당하게 부르고 요청해야 서비스 받는곳임. 음식은 짜다. 현지의 맛이라 생각하고 존중하고 먹었는데 Luciana를 가보니 짠게 맞다. 웬만한 대식가가 아니면 파스타는 하나면 충분하다.
