14/06/2026Beautiful experience, some breathtaking pieces but the building is very large and complex. We were there for over 2 hours and I'm still not sure if we saw everything. Wish we had gone earlier as we had to leave at 7. The staff were all lovely id like to point out, so helpful. Recommend it if you're in Rome for an afternoon.

11/06/2026This was the most incredible museum I have ever visited. The scale of everything inside is incredible, so beautiful so detailed. The art was absolutely breathtaking. All of the sculptures... Oh my goodness. What a fantastic trip through history. These are the most exquisite artifacts. So grateful I was able to come and enjoy this beautiful building full of masterpieces.

04/06/2026Hands down, the best museum I've seen in Rome. Easily spent 2+ hours here. Cafe is tasty and cheap. The basement level is worth a view - for the city view as well as seeing old grave stones. Every floor has something new and interesting to discover.

25/05/2026We reserve the tickets online but when we reached the museum they asked for to pay additional 10Euros for some exhibition ! Which was no were mentioned in the tickets! It is not about the money but the principle. Any extra charges no matter small or big, mention it.

23/05/2026The Capitoline museums dominate the ancient Capitoline Hill, in an attractive space designed by Michaelangelo himself, with an impressive staircase flanked by massive statues leading up to the courtyard that has two large buildings that constitute the museum, linked by an ancient underground tunnel. The highlights for us were the original huge bronze statue of Emperor Hadrian on a horse and the enormous pieces of an ancient statue of Emperor Constantine. It's a spacious museum with lots of other things to see, including some of the foundations of the very significant ancient Roman temple of Jupiter/Giove/Jove, which crowned the hill for centuries. It's relatively uncrowded, and right next to some great (free) viewpoints overlooking the Roman and Imperial forums/fora. Well worth a visit in Rome.

23/05/2026Be aware that this museum automatically charges a mandatory €4.50 "integrated" fee on top of the standard ticket for temporary exhibitions. I checked the museum's website notices beforehand, and there was absolutely no mention of any closures. Yet, when I bought my ticket at the counter, the staff charged me the full price anyway without mentioning a thing. Once inside, I tried going into the temporary exhibition and was told by staff it was closed due to works. Charging visitors a mandatory extra fee for closed, inaccessible galleries is a very bad practice. The main exhibition is worth seeing , but the ticketing practices are a total tourist trap. Don’t charge for something that’s not available.

20/05/2026A good museum ruined by a racist attack. At around 3:30pm this afternoon, I walked out of the cafe on the top floor of the museum, a male staff stopped me, asking "do you have a ticket" I said " of course, how could get in without a ticket". He asked me to show him the ticket. I searched my small crossbody bag and said it might be in the locker. He said " show me the key for your locker". I showed him the key, he said " you can go now". While this nonsense was going on, many other visitors walked past, he did not stop anyone else, just me! Having said that, the majority of the staff are very friendly. I remember visiting Rome 20 years ago, it seemed everyone was rude, because they could get away with it! Smart phone and google have revolutionised the tourist industry, you have to be fair and nice, otherwise you get a bad review! I have filed a complaint online, see if they'd come back to me!

17/05/2026Few bathrooms in precarious state, no English inscriptions of the statues or frescoes, the guide/map of the museum is nonsensical and everything for a ridiculous expensive price. It's a pity that such important piece of works are stored under such a horrible administration. Would not recommend.

15/05/2026Truly amazing museum, well worth the visit. Statuary main hall is amazing with huge statue of Marcus Aurelius. Many amazing rooms, statues and more. Signs are in Italian and English only. Audio tour a must for other languages but was only modestly helpful for English beyond what was already on signs. Museum is on pricey side with only modestly helpful discount for students but well worth the price. Nice views from rooftop cafe and over forum from inside museum. Awesome Museum!

12/05/2026The ticket staff are horrible, throwing the ticket at us. It almost made me request my money back, and leave. Because of only 2 staffs. They treated us terrible. Thus, improve your staff, and teach then how to deal with people. I was there 11 may afternoon. The museum itself is beautiful, huge archive of sculptures and history. There is an underground passage, that links to the other side of the museum. It's worth it the price.

11/05/2026This museum is really worth seeing, don't get me wrong. But we've had such a bad experience that day. First, we had roma pass and ladies in the queue in front of us couldn't get their apps to connect to show the QR code and instead of serving us we had to wait until they get it by going outside and inside backwards and forwards because they couldn't think of making a screenshot. Then, there were 2 school trips, and even though we joined the queue having a few kids in front of us, the guard told us to go to the end and it took us 20 minutes until all kids went through security. When at the front, we saw some guy shaking hands with that security guard and after he joined the queue right next to us. There were about 20 people behind us and we pointed at the end and told that guy and the security guard the end is there! Special treatment for mates!? And last, we had to hang around in one area to let the school trips go to higher floors or leave altogether because they were making a lot of noise and the teachers didn't even tell them to behave and be quiet! Like animals! No respect. This behaviour is unacceptable in UK, Poland, and we had Chinese lady behind us in the queue, and other nations, they were all just looking shocked. We also completely missed the other building because there were no signs leading there.

07/06/2026Jak ktoś się interesuje choć trochę historią, to musi tu wejść. Wspaniałe muzeum z ogromną liczbą starożytnych eksponatów. Dużo zwiedzania i w każdej sali coraz to nowe wspaniałości. Warto przyjść w pierwszą niedzielę miesiąca, wtedy jest za free, a ludzi wcale nie ma dużo.

07/06/2026Sbírky jsou úžasné, zejména pro milovníky antiky. Ale nejen pro ně. Jsou tu i sochy od Berniniho, v obrazárně Caravaggio, Tizian, Tintoretto, Reni... Jeden sál je věnovaný kamenictví - mramoru a jeho původu odkud se který dovážel s naučným videem, sál etrusků... Jen pohyb uvnitř mi přišel jako bludiště. Troufnu si říct, že mám výborný orientační smysl, ale dnes můžu prohlásit, že jsou dvě místa na světě, kde nefunguje a kde se ztratím - Ikea a Kapitolská muzea. Jedno hlavní schodiště vás zavede do jedné části prvního patra, druhé, menší schodiště, které se tváří jako unikový východ, do jiné části prvního patra, třetí schodiště, které se tváří jako pokračování prohlídky vás vykopne na ulici, čtvrté které vede z katakomb vypadá to že zpět na nádvoří vede na krásnou vyhlídku nad vykopávkami... U vchodu je místnost s uzamykatelnými skříňkami kde můžete nechat batoh či si uzamknout deštník, uvnitř je i jídelna, kde můžete využít "selfservice" nebo se nechat obsloužit (vaří tu i obědy). My si dali jen "sendvič". Mají tu i "Baby change room" - místnost s křeslem, patrně na kojení. Odskočit si také je kde. Strávili jsme zde víc hodin než jsme čekali. Je tu vcelku klid oproti jiným "profláknutým" místům.

İnternette daha ucuz görünüyor ama geçici sergi biletini de zorla satıyorlar sanırım. Müzedeki en önemli eserler bronz heykeller. En güzel yer üst kattaki teras ve foruma bakan teras. Yavaş yavaş 3-4 saatte gezdik. Ben müzedeki eserleri pek de etkileyici bulmadım. Roma pass’in geçerli olduğu müze. Ücreti kolezyumdan fazla mı emin değilim ama bir ücretsiz hak için değerlendirilebilir. Ücretsiz locker var.

La visita permite conectar piezas históricas con procesos fundamentales como la expansión del Imperio Romano y la posterior transformación cultural de Europa. Uno de los aspectos que más valor aporta al recorrido es la forma en que las salas están organizadas. La disposición cronológica ayuda a seguir la evolución de Roma de manera clara y accesible, mientras que los textos explicativos permiten apreciar no solo el valor artístico de las obras, sino también su contexto histórico y cultural. Es un museo ideal para quienes disfrutan aprender mientras observan. El propio entorno añade una dimensión especial a la experiencia. Los museos ocupan los edificios que rodean la Piazza del Campidoglio, rediseñada por Miguel Ángel en el siglo XVI sobre la colina más importante de la antigua Roma. Caminar por estos espacios permite entender por qué el Campidoglio ha sido durante casi tres mil años uno de los grandes símbolos del poder civil y la identidad romana. Entre las piezas más destacadas se encuentran la Loba Capitolina, la estatua ecuestre de Marco Aurelio y los impresionantes restos colosales de Constantino. Sin embargo, más allá de las obras más famosas, merece la pena detenerse en las colecciones arqueológicas menos conocidas, que ayudan a comprender la profundidad y complejidad de la civilización romana. Además, las vistas sobre el Foro Romano desde algunas terrazas y miradores son un atractivo adicional que no conviene perderse. En mi caso, pude acceder gratuitamente gracias a la MIC Card, lo que aumentó aún más la excelente relación entre tiempo invertido y valor recibido. Aunque algunos visitantes pueden encontrar ciertas secciones más densas que otras, considero que es una visita muy recomendable para quienes desean entender mejor la historia de Roma y el legado cultural que ha llegado hasta nuestros días. Reservar al menos dos o tres horas permite disfrutarla con calma.

24/05/2026Esperienza magica. Durante la visita, nella sala della lupa, hanno organizzato un evento di musica jazz dal vivo. Un' atmosfera suggestiva e accogliente. L' unica cosa è che avrei gradito una prenotazione preventiva con un orario d'entrata, così da gestire al meglio la fila che è durata più di 40 minuti. Ma per il resto l' evento è stato molto bello e apprezzato

24/05/2026La visita ai Musei Capitolini durante “La Notte dei Musei” è stata un’esperienza davvero speciale. Visitare il museo di sera, con l’atmosfera unica delle sale illuminate e la città di Roma ancora viva all’esterno, rende tutto ancora più suggestivo. Le collezioni sono straordinarie e permettono di fare un vero viaggio nella storia di Roma. Tra le opere che mi hanno colpito di più ci sono la celebre statua equestre di Marco Aurelio, la magnifica Lupa Capitolina e il gigantesco Colosso di Costantino, davvero impressionante dal vivo. Bellissima anche la pinacoteca, con opere di artisti come Caravaggio e Guido Reni. L’organizzazione della serata era ottima, il personale disponibile e l’atmosfera culturale creata dall’evento rendeva tutto ancora più coinvolgente. Consiglio assolutamente questa esperienza sia ai turisti che ai romani: vedere i Musei Capitolini di notte ha un fascino completamente diverso e rende la visita ancora più memorabile.

Sembra davvero di viaggiare nel passato camminando tra capolavori di una bellezza senza tempo. Oltre alla ricchezza delle sale, siamo rimasti senza fiato per lo scorcio unico sui Fori Imperiali e per la vista panoramica su Roma che si gode dalle terrazze. Un luogo magico che unisce storia, arte e panorami da cartolina. Consigliatissimo da fare in compagnia!

Consiglio vivamente la comoda prenotazione per scaglioni orari online, perché permette di accedere immediatamente senza perdite di tempo. Da non perdere il bslcone con ina vista incredibile sul Foro Romano. Comodo guardaroba per depositare le proprie borse.

Ho visitato il complesso insieme a mia moglie, usufruendo della gratuità d'ingresso prevista per i residenti (un'iniziativa eccellente che permette a noi romani di riappropriarci costantemente della nostra storia). L'esperienza all'interno è un viaggio mozzafiato che unisce l'archeologia classica all'architettura rinascimentale. La transizione tra la maestosa Sala degli Orazi e Curiazi, con la sua eccezionale collezione di busti ed elementi scultorei, e gli affacci indimenticabili sulle vedute monumentali del Foro Romano (con l'Arco di Settimio Severo e il Tempio di Saturno in primo piano) lascia ogni volta senza fiato. I punti di forza assoluti della visita: l'Esedra di Marco Aurelio: la monumentale statua equestre originale in bronzo dell'imperatore, collocata nella grande aula vetrata, è semplicemente ipnotica. Poterla ammirare da vicino insieme ai colossali frammenti bronzei di Costantino (la celebre testa, la mano e il globo) ripaga da sola l'intera visita. Le aree archeologiche interne: molto affascinanti le sezioni dedicate alle imponenti fondazioni del Tempio di Giove Capitolino e i reperti fittili sapientemente esposti, che mostrano le radici più arcaiche del colle. La Galleria Lapidaria e i camminamenti: Il percorso sotterraneo che collega i palazzi offre non solo una collezione epigrafica di immenso valore, ma anche scorci architettonici unici. Il museo si presenta estremamente curato, pulito e con un'organizzazione impeccabile, ideale sia per una visita approfondita di diverse ore sia per perdersi tra i dettagli dei capolavori della scultura romana. Un luogo dell'anima per chi ama Roma, che non smette mai di stupire anche chi ci è nato e cresciuto. Tappa obbligatoria.

In esposizione, dei reperti archeologici meravigliosi, sopratutto la testa di Costantino, il bronzo della Lupa di Romolo e Remo, e in primis, il busto capolavoro della patrizia Flavia nella Sala degli Imperatori. Il servizio nella caffetteria non era all'altezza della situazione ma la vista era bellissima...

Pour résumer : - faible rapport qualité/prix - amabilité au guichet inexistant + on me fait signer une feuille sans m'expliquer ce que c’est - si peu d'explication à l’intérieur, même avec l'audio-guide, c'est ridicule - le "self guided tour" est... inutile. On nous dit de suivre des salles, regarder des œuvres avec des pastilles, sans autres explications - c’est mal indiqué, les numéros des salles est différent sur le plan et les panneaux dans les salles, c’est un casse tête pour se rendre à l'étage supérieur - le musée est vide en ce mercredi soir, les jardins, la salle d'exposition temporaire ferment 1h avant la fermeture. C’est tellement frustrant, on aurait pu faire le tour 20 fois. - ma pièce d'identité m'est quasiment jetée quand je viens rendre mon audio guide.. oui il est 19h il faut vite fermer derrière moi

Vista l' ampiezza dell' esposizione richiederebbe più di una visita Molto interessante la mostra "ospite" in questo periodo dei Musei Capitolini: "Grecia a Roma", un' analisi attenta ai legami esistenti tra 2 grandi civiltà Di ottimo livello la mostra dedicata al pittore Vasari ed al suo rapporto con Roma. Materiale pittorico (e non solo) organizzato con ordine. Percorso organizzato in modo esauriente anche per il pubblico meno esperto

29/06/2024I musei capitolini sono immensi e stupendi. Una passeggiata nelle sue stanze può essere un viaggio rilassante nelle bellezze artistiche dell'umanità. Oppure uno stress se sì vuole vedere tutto capire tutto. Mi limito a elencare alcune delle opere che mi piacciono di più. -i frammenti della statua colossale di Costantino -la statua equestre di Marco Aurelio -la statua in marmo di Bernini che raffigura Papa Urbano VIII Barberini -lo Spinario -la Lupa capitolina scultura di bronzo -la testa di Medusa di Gian Lorenzo Bernini -il busto in marmo di Commodo in figura d'Ercole. Un elenco non originale, ma sono alcune delle opere più belle che vanno viste. Dimenticavo, dalla Terrazza Cardarelli c'è una vista stupenda su Roma, ci si arriva anche gratuitamente chiedendo come andare al bar e nel giardino, sempre gratuito, la ricostruzione della statua gigante di Costantino

15/04/2024Fantastici musei immensi da vedere, che non basta un giorno ma più giorni per finirli tutti! Quì puoi ammirare, fra le tantissime opere d'arte, una statua gigante che è stata costruita con la stampante 3d nel 2025 e poi ho avuto la fortuna di vedere uno studio su un quadro di Caravaggio "Buona Ventura" per vedere cosa c'era disegnato prima. In questo studio è stato scoperto finora un volto di una donna in un'altra direzione come si vede nella foto sul pc.
