I found this place on my way back to my hotel and it was amazing. My host Amanda was so friendly and made me feel welcome. The bread with date butter was so tasty I could eat that as a main course. The salad was huge and the carbonara was the best I have had. I loved the Brazilian touches and service which made the whole experience great. I will be returning soon for a pizza!

We actually intended to go to Maynard's burger but walked into the Bistro and we had a great time. Lovely waitress, pizza was tasty and the lasagna was a huge serving for us, we laughed with the table next to us offering them half but ended up finishing it. Great portions for the price. Will visit again.

mmmm! This is it! Cosy, inviting ambiance. Friendly, helpful, attentive service, without being intrusive. And then the food! We had the Wild Boar Arancinis to start and we hope to have them again. We had the Shrimp Risotto and the Cod. The risotto was properly done and nicely flavored! The cod was stacked on bashed potatoes and was delicious, melt in your mouth. We're recommending this place to friends who will be visiting soon. Get in there before they realize that they're charging too little for an excellent meal! The menu is small.

What a great find! Met my friend here for lunch. We wanted pizza, which we thoroughly enjoyed but the best part was the fantastic energy from the owners, the overall menu, and the brisket tacos. Really great place. We ordered the mini-tacos brisket as a starter; it was really tasty, the meat was well cooked, and juicy. Then we had the cod and the lasagna. Both delicious, lots of flavors, we can tell the chef and his teams put effort into the plates to satisfy the clients. 100% recommend this place.

Amazing atmosphere and outstanding food! Everything we tried was exceptional. The osso buco was incredible, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. I came across this restaurant on my way somewhere else for lunch. It's a recent addition to the area and the interior looked appealing and smart. The menu is European with an Italian influence offering bistro dishes and a good number of pizzas. I started with garlic bread which I enjoyed though it was more of a cheesy herb bread. My smoked brisket with potato salad was excellent with tender meat and a well flavoured potato salad. I also enjoyed the little sweetcorn and would have liked more. Good Duoro wine by the glass and everything was reasonably priced with no hidden extras. I was surprised by the option to tip when I paid as it's unusual in Portugal.

I just had the most beautiful meal at Maynard’s Bistro tonight. Several friends had told me about it and I had read some comments on a couple groups I follow. It’s relatively new restaurant and it’s already got a buzz. I wandered by tonight and saw some empty tables so I decided to give it a try. I’m so glad I did. The Ossobuco was outstanding. The meat was tender and soft with the most delicious sauce on a bed of creamy polenta. I had a glass of one of the Douro Valley red wines that was recommended by the owner and it was perfect. I wasn’t planning to eat dessert but she convinced me to try the Panna cotta. It was a bit unusual, more like a frozen ice cream. It was served with a port wine reduction and red fruit compote. It was the perfect ending to the meal. The bistro is run by lovely Brazilian couple. He is the chef and his wife runs the front of the house. They are both delightful and take great care and getting to know their customers. I expect to be a regular at this restaurant since it is in my neighborhood. They have a varied menu and a pizza oven which seemed popular. There were definitely fish and vegetarian options as well. I’ll be back to try other dishes soon.

Absolutely stunning. We went down for dinner and everything from start to end went beyond our expectations. The restaurant manager, Nivea was super friendly and took the time to explain the menu and provided great recommendations. We started with the Arancini balls perfectly made and for main courses we had the Ossobuco with a creamy polenta that we loved. The meat melts in mouth. We also had a delicious Maynards Pizza and finished with an incredible cold panacota for dessert. The chef even popped up to our table checking how was the food and we have to say, it was one of the best dining experiences we had in Porto so far. The welcoming atmosphere, the pleasant service, the delicious food, everything is thoughtfully designed. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Porto’s gastronomic scene.

Wir waren während unseres Urlaubs zweimal dort. Beides Mal war es sehr lecker. Die Hauptgerichte (Thunfisch mit Risotto und Kabeljau) waren sehr gut und auch sehr ansprechend serviert. Der Service war sehr freundlich. Auch der Nachtisch (eine Art Pana Cotta mit Kirschlikör) war außergewöhnlich. Ein kleines Restaurant/Bistros mit gutem Preis-Leistungsverhältnis.

Wat een leuk en sfeervol restaurant. We kwamen hier omdat het dichtbij ons hotel was, maar waren zeer verrast. Mooie gerechten, lekkere wijnen en een zeer vriendelijke service. Een paar dagen later zijn we laat nog langs geweest voor een pizza en deze was ook fantastich! Kortom, een aanrader!

Bin aus keinen bestimmten Gründen auf das Bistro gestoßen,habe einfach im Umkreis des Hotels nach einer ansprechenden Lokalität geschaut und bin auf das Maynard‘s gestoßen. Kurz und knapp: Das Bistro ist sehr gemütlich und einladend eingerichtet,man kann drinnen,sowie draußen sitzen und essen,dort sitzt man allerdings direkt an der Straße. Hier im Geschäft kann man definitiv entlschleunigen. Das Personal spricht perfektes Englisch und ist super freundlich,aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. Ich habe mich für einen Starter,Hauptgang und Dessert entschieden,und alles war für mich perfekt. Fleisch wie es sein sollte,Mengen genau richtig und optisch dazu noch sehr schön angerichtet. Defintiv empfehle ich dieses Lokal und werde wohl selbst noch einmal herkommen.

Apesar de a comida ser saborosa não tinham o prato de carbonara, nem a sobremesa mil folhas as 20h30 de um sábado. Não achamos que compense por esse motivo. E o tempo de serviço dos pratos foi longo sendo que não estava cheio.

Köstliches Essen mit erstklassigem Service! Der Salat des Tages war sehr lecker, sehr gutes Dressing und eine überdurchschnittliche große Portion. Die Pizzen sehr einfallsreich und hervorragend. Dazu wird immer gutes Olivenöl, Salz und Pfeffer gereicht. Selten haben wir in unserem Urlaub in Portugal so gut gegessen und wurden so freundlich bedient.
